\"Tube and filters\" on the SRT... (pic)
So, I am busy looking over my SRT pictures from VOI 7. I took a look at this one and it has me curious:
As 97.34% of us know, the first, easiest, least expensive, and often most productive modification you make on any Viper are tubes and filters. Judging by these monsters on the 2003, I am wondering how soon K&N, Roe, or someone else will have high-flow filter replacements. Or will Mopar? I also wonder if there is any type of rain baffle on these cars. As to the "tubes", there is only one large one and it is so short that I can't imagine "smoothing it out" (it is corrugated) would make much difference, if any.
So, besides those car covers (whoopie) and some future exhaust plans, is there ANYTHING that can be done to tweak a few more ponies from the start? Sounds like the only immediate mod available is a new MGW shift knob. I am eager to see who will get their car broken in properly first and then dyno'ed. Should be VERY interesting, as I have yet to hear of a single dyno on a 2003, even from the car mags (one showed it on the dyno, but mysteriously neglected to mention the results). Should be pushing around 440 rwhp with 12% or so driveline loss (which is always up for debate). And with high-flow filters? Who knows...
