Just curious, why aren't there zerk fittings on the u-joints for the driveshaft or halfshafts? I would think that greaseable u-joints would last longer (not that I've had any problems so far). Are sealed u-joints better?

Sealed U-Joints have more steel in them, hence they are stronger. The grease is in the cup and a small reservior in each end.

Yep, just as Tom says, the hole for the grease ****** introduces a weak point, from which breakages will start
