It would be cool to see. But it will have to be at the perfect track, with perfect weather and conditions. I remember when the guy who was running the Z06 into low 11's and finally 10's, wasnt he at a track known for having very good conditionsand altitude, etc.

The guy you speak of goes by the name of RANGER. He lives about 1 hour from me
and we race at the same tracks in the area. Yes the conditions will need to be
perfect and with the car coming out in the fall it blends well for great conditions.
There is a VCA MEMBER who has ordered one and has offered to let be give it a
go once he takes delivery of the car.

I think it's possible also. Right track with good prep and good conditions, the new Viper should hit 10's.
Take a 06 SRT-10 running 11.8's. Add 100hp, better rear diff, better tranny, higher RPM band. That's an easy .8 tenths. IMHO

I think Ranger broke 10's with slicks though....Would be nice if you could do it and the Viper is coming stock with PS2 right? much better then the runflats....Im thinking more like 11.2 @ around 127-128 mph but Ill be rooting for you and the 08 Snake to hit the 10's...

Enzo and Mclaren F1 have hit 10.8 and 10.6 respectively
Koenigsegg, Saleen S7 have hit 10's as well
I believe if either Z07 or 08 Viper hit 10s bone stock it will be the first production car under 400k to accomplish that feat...

The Mclaren F1 has been clocked at 10.6 @ 141mph by a European mag I had way back in the day.Thats one of the slowest times Ive seen for the Euro Mclaren F1...The Ameritech one we got was significantly slower than the European version...Also the Enzo has hit 10's but cant remember which of the mags Ive read it in....I will try to find the article of the Veyron hitting 9.9....

I don't believe I said that fast-autos.net was the bible of automotive figures and stats. Nor did I say that any of the stats you gave were wrong. DSG2003SVT asked if any production cars had broken into the 10's, and I quoted your post because it was the last one I read on the subject. If you have articles that list faster times for the cars listed above, then that's great, and I would love to see their figures.
I don't doubt that the McLaren time you posted is correct, but McLaren's own figures (as listed on their website) is 11.1 @ 138mph.

But anyway why are we comparing true bread road corse rockets to vipers and vettes? Someone tell me who's actually seen one or more Enzo, carrera GT, Salleen S7, etc go down the 1/4 mile. Those cars weren't built for that.

Is 11.8 really the fastest stock time for an SRT 10? I find that hard to believe.
well think of it this way, you have a light 600hp car with a good differential and tires, take a look at other cars with large engines and similar RPM ranges and HP that run 10s. if you have say a 600 horsepower trans am running a 10 with a similar diff. gear and trans gears and RPM range then its gauranteed, just research a little bit, do some math, dont forget drag coeffecient and hesitation or track conditions or driver errors.....

Well if it's true I have to change my vote for the negative on the 10.99 stock.
#1 If they take the car out when it's practically new, it wont be broken in = less power.
#2 If 11.8 is any where near the best the SRT 10 has to offer, 100 (crank) hp, and sticker (non dr) tires wont get it that far.
#3 It will have to trap 129, 130 to make it to the 10's unless some one can get a 1.6 60' on PS2's.

Already been done.
Wow, Z06's now come with drag radials stock! And please tell all the other information like a negative altitude factor. He is good no doubt. But that is not what real people get at real tracks on real days. Or would you like to put some money on getting a sub 11 second time here on a real track. Pure stock like it came from the factory?
