I mounted mine right next to the mirror, ran the cord behind the header panel and down the pillar. I removed the lower panel under the steering wheel and tapped my wires there. Unfortunately I do not recall exactly which wires I tapped. All the wires are conceled and it is a nice clean install.
If I get a chance I will look at the wires tomorrow.

My buddy and me both ran our wire along header, down pillar and then under dash to 12 volt accessory lighter by shifter. It was easy and I didnt want to mess with any other fuses.

I did this route on mine as well - it was amazingly easy.

I didn't want to tap or cut any wires for my V1 so I made pluged into the console lighter leads like a wedge. That is, I made connectors to plug into the lighter plug from the harness and for each lead sent one wire back to the lighter using connectors and the other to the V1.

Mine is wired into the ignition wires providing juice only with the engine on. More hassle initially. I also have a remote unit by the left a pillar to make it easier for me to see and difficult for a cop to see that I have a detector.

I have the passport blue and ran the wire behind the weather striping. I just pulled it out at the mirror. It stays in place just fine, at least it hasn't come out yet. I would like to know if anyone has a better idea for mounting than the suction cups? They ****, oops a pun! I would like something more solid that lasts.
