I have a Valentine one ver 1.7 and everytime I accerate hard, the radar goes off like I am being hit by laser radar. I have my mode on "L"

Anyone else have this issue? I about crap myself when I hit it hard one day and then my radar goes off....found out later it's a false alarm.

I had the same problem in my 300 zx twinturbo, thought it was the detector, I had to do a job out of town and took the work van and took my v-1 with me and it did the same thing, called valentine and they sent me a new power cord and it took care of the problem. I looked further into the power cord and cut the end off that looks like a phone plug and crimped on a new end, and that took care of the problem, plus I got a new one power cord for free. Two different issues, the loose cord is an obvious problem, on the other hand the alarm under acceleration could be an ignition problem. If a plug wire is loose, that single wire could act as an antenna. The V1 could be picking up this random frequency.

Well if the wire is loose...I don't think it's is on mine...I have shaken the valentine one and it didn't do the laser alert...something else is causing it..

Hmm...jack I will have to check into my wires...interesting.,,,my damn car is making my alarm give off fake warnings.

Maybe it is trying to tell you to ditch the wing.

Well isn't that original!  I think I hear your car calling for another coat of wax.

I'll worry about the wing when you can keep up with my viper. :2tu:

I have two V-1's...but no I don't have that problem...my Durango doesn't accel like the Viper does.

Mine did it on my RX-7, turned out to be a voltage drop to the accessories under hard acceleration. A new ground to the lighter did the trick.

Bill may be on to something. I have had several cars that the radar detector started beeping and giving false alarms as a first sign of a bad alternator or battery. It was a better tool than the battery light. Maybe your belt is slipping when you hit it and makes the voltage dip.
