From what I've seen/heard, if your car has any kind of exhaust and/or header change then tuning will be required. The splitsecond unit that comes with the Paxton is tunable, but from what I understand it's not as easy to tune as a VEC2.
Most stock Vipers that ad the Paxton are getting somewhere around 630-650hp to the wheels.
With your mods, you will need it. I got it on mine and yes it works.
678rwhp in my case, and you can get more out of it, but not a good idea with the cast pistons..Paxton S/C works great, I love all that HP......
VEC2 and VEC3 piggybacks work great w/ Paxton Systems as does SCT tuning! The Split-Second piggyback works just fine w/ the Paxton fuel system and is very reliable.
We had the VECII on our 2005, but no Paxton (B&B Ceramic Stepped Headers/Corsa Track Cat-Back Exhaust/Flo-Thru Cats). It never got 'finely-tuned' on the dyno however (not for lack of a VERY VERY fine expert's help on here). If we had to do it again, we'd go with the SCT. ~juli
