I initiate a nod or thumbs up to the driver of any performance or specialty car that catches my attention, usually followed by the fangs sign. I also wave back followed by the fangs to all who initiate a wave. Porsche drivers never wave (and I ignore them too), Vette owners seldom - even if I initiate the contact. I experience far more acknowledgements with tuners and low-riders than with Corvettes. I don't understand why because I've cruised with Corvette clubs and generally found the owners to be friendly, down to earth folks, far less pretentious and guarded than Viper owners.

It's very silly and quite childish to be a snob over what car you drive.True car guys appreciate all good looking cars and most wave to me when we pass. It's a lot more fun to enjoy the friendliness and comraderie of true muscle or sports car buffs than to put yourself high on a pedestal only for egotistical reasons. I personally usually give a thumbs up when i pass a sharp looking ride no matter the make.If the owner is a snob, well he is the loser. I get so many compliments about the GTS and especially my 94 rt/10. They are sharp machines and are noticed. :2tu:

Musclenutz +1, Thats exactly how I feel. I don't care what it is as long as its nice. I made the mistake of bringing up (on the Porsche Forum) I was lookin at a older Turbo Porsche but with a 500hp LT-1 or LS-1 Vette motor in it (Renegade Hybrids in Vegas) & the Purist like to have had a heart attack. I think it really makes good sense for several reasons, for 1 I wouldn't have to drive 100 miles every time I needed a mechanic to work on it, but in their mind the old Air-Cooled motors are sacred & thats a Big no-no (Porsche with Chevy motor)& I guess they have a point to a certain extent, it does have a lil' history (911 motor). I already have a 911 & was lookin at gettin a 993 or another 911, but decided to go in another direction which is how the Viper came into the picture. And man, I can't tell you how happy I am that I made that choice.

It happened AGAIN yesterday. I was driving down the road in my Viper and here comes a nice new Corvette and I made the mistake of waving, because the driver stuck his nose so high in the air, I thought it was going to touch his headliner,(no return wave)....then I cussed myself for waving at the guy, and again remined myself that is exactly why I feel the way I do about Corvette drivers........Forget the Wave!!
