Came across this video, has anyone repainted just the area in question or does everyone just repaint the entire bumper.

Wonder if they would do a portion of a door or hood or just where one would have to get on their hands and knees to see the work as shown in the video.

My wife ran into a lane barrier when turning through a construction area (In her 300C). Called a local repairman (does this for dealerships all over the Valley of the Sun!), and he came to the house, masked off the entire front section of the car, and repaired it in our driveway. Couldn't tell ANY difference with the rest of the car! Did a fabulous job, and charged $125. What a deal. Had to fix a small hole, had to use some bondo to fill the hole, and did it all in about 1hr and 45 min. I was VERY please to say the least!

If you use good paint and the right blender, you can spot blend a repair pretty easy. Metallic flake is harder to blend than a solid color though.

I just got finished repainting the lower portion of my front facia. Upper portion didn't need it. I had major scratches, as most everyone has at one time or another, underneath the facia plus had a few extra on the front right where my car accidentallly rolled into a concrete wall when I let up off the clutch. Took the facia off the car and taped it off right at the natural seam and refinished the entire lower section including the underneath side. I used Dupont Chromabase system with flex additive in the clear and recommended activator for the paint. Matches perfectly. Completely repainted both rocker panels as well. They were scratched up pretty bad on the under side too from a previous owner. Paint job is better than factory if I don't mind saying. Zero dust nibs and buffed out what little orange peel there was. I certainly didn't paint any of it outside though! :nono:
