I just watched the video of my car running a 9.90 @ 143+. It gave me goosebumps. My only regret is not being able to be there to see it happen. Thanks Gary for the video!

Uhm....not to sound weird but could you tell me next time you go drag racing? I would love to see this beast in person. I live in Cincinnati so it couldn't be too far away.

I'll be getting my car back soon, and I plan to take it to the local strip in Muncie, IN. Since this is a street driven car, I won't be running it with 16" ET Streets/Skinnies. I plan to drive it to the track with 18" BFG drag radials in back with 18" Pilots in front. Wednesday is the Test & Tune day for this track. Don't expect a 9.90 from me. I'm not the driver that Jason is. I'm still a rookie. I'll let you know by posting on the board.

I was there to see this run in person and I must say that car fly's and Jason sure drove it like he stole it. Congrats to Jason for the world record of 9.90. I knew he would do it. Top notch tuning along with top notch driving = 9.90 at 143mph

I was there too running in the test and tune and it figures I had to run out to get some parts and I get back and it was like New Years!!!! That car ran like a ***** ape. Hats off to Jason for going the extra mile and getting the first 9 sec Viper.

Wow, a V-10 chainsaw. It must really haul a$$ when you're cuttin' wood.
The car really does sound wicked - B&B headers, no cats, and B&B cat back.

To run a 9 in a drag car is not difficult.

To do it in a street Viper with independent rear end - that is not ideal for drag strip use - but great on road race circuits - with stereo and air con etc still fitted, and full weight, on stock bottom end engine, stock clutch, stock trans - is a very good accomplishment.

Yes Twin Turbos have done it - well they make more power

Yes NOS did it first - but the top NOS cars are making almost 1000rwtq - that'll make the earth move.

A SC only car has limitations - push it past a certain point and the belt will break - plus getting the huge power down without going up in wheelspin is a big ask. It may not seem a big thing compared to the 9 second Mustangs you've heard of - but try it

Remember - unlike the pro street Mustangs - this car can still do all the things a normal Viper can.

actually a Turbo Charged Viper has not ran a 9 with-out NOS!

THis is the fastest forced induction car period! (on a Viper)

actually a Turbo Charged Viper has not ran a 9 with-out NOS!

THis is the fastest forced induction car period! (on a Viper)

Hey David - I checked and you are right as far as a 6 speed goes. The Venom TT has run 9.79 @ 145mph without Nos with the powerglide.

If I'm not mistaken but didn't Jamie Parker TT car run 9.52 @156.46 with no (NOS)and he kept his 6-speed.

That was with a shot - still the fastest run ever in a street V10 Viper however!

Sounds like Jason will have to include a HANS device with every SCi Viper that leaves his shop.
