Vipair Coil Overs Installed!

Just finished installing my new coil overs that I purchased from Steve @ ViperAir Performance....The quality of their product was great and the installation went perfect with no issues. The ride is so much better than the original. Thanks to Steve for helping me out with sizing the spring weight to my preference and the final stance of the car was exactly what i wanted....Now just waiting for my new black shoes to get here!

Yeah i have more pics.....trying to get them uploaded and posted, but having some fun trying to figure out how (learning the attatch limits here)

Thanks AbsolutHank....can't wait for the wheels to get here...also have a hard top on order from Steve @ Vipair... LOL, I get excited every time I hear a UPS truck!

Will the bigger rims and tires fit with as low as you went?

When you upsize rims you go with a lower profile tire. The goal is to get to the same(or close to) overall diameter as stock. In the case of 20"ers im pretty sure the tire does end up alittle bigger.(but not by an inch)

Forgestars are narrower (at least in the rear) than OEM rims, you will end up with more rubber outside of the width of the rim. I would check these things closely, beats ending up with a cracked fender or quarter panel.

Forgestars are narrower wheels the rear, but 12 inch is what is recommended as the wheel size for 345 tires usually, the 13 inch is a stretch.

I have one set of these coilovers for SRT on the shelf right now looking for a home if anyone wants to pull the trigger and save a 2 week wait

12 inch is typically recommended for 325 low profile tires. 13 is hardly a stretch, just look at the stock rims if in doubt. Also, keep in mind that actual width of tire varies quite a bit between brands of tires, this is a fact, this is why recommended wheel width for a tire is a range, not a single number.

For 345 width Tires, Tirerack has listed the rim width range as 11.5 to 12.5 and the optimal width as 12 inch for the 19 inch diameter tires.

I am sure that Tirerack doesn't hire a bunch of Ghost writers to speculate at specs that are most likely originating at the manufacturer. I just quote the PS2 tire spec as that is what is a current Michelin product that is accepted as the tire to use for Vipers, I don;t want a big debate on an off topic to the thread itself, so you win, for 15 inch Yoko tires that are 345 wide Yoko gives a bigger range. I stopped using Yokos years ago, I didn't like having the bead seals pop when I went around corners, but then maybe their spec was off...

OK but just FIY, I use 325/25/20 tires on 11 inch rims and they would look and perform better on 12 inch rims for sure, they are Contis and not Yoko (I hope you can see a proportional difference here before claiming these are different sizes). 325 on 19X12 rims is standard equipment on wide body vettes, just like 19x13 with 345 is on Viper. ZR1 runs 335 tires on 20x12 inch rims (why didn't GM just go for 345 tires). Nitto is one of the brands that is narrower, there are others, yoko is not one of them.

Yes, the overall measurement is the same (or close enough) and I've got the Nitto Invos here already....wheels should be on tomorrow and I'll get pics up ASAP

I got the wheels from Tony @ Deviate Motoring.....another good guy to deal with. Coming in right on schedule!
