Exactly now iam starting to see ACR advertised at slightly over invoice. Not knocking the ACR, but I think anyone here would agree that the Porsche 911 qualifies as a sports car and the number of 911s manufactured in Stuttgart for '08 was 34,303. Chevy also built 7,731 '08 Z06's, in the first half of this year, Ferrari sold 3,506 cars (and all they make are $$ cars, and even Lamborghini sold ~1800 Gallardo's in '08, so the Viper line has a long way to go before being a best-selling anything.
They probably had to stop orders for another reason.
At a time car companys are really hurting , Dodge has to stop orders for
2009 ACR'S just to catch up on the orders to date. All I can say is WOW.
The ACR has turned out to be the hottest car available , way to go SRT!
Niche "SUPER" cars usually sell better especially in low numbers when they deliver the shock and awe that people expect. The ACR is worth much more than Dodge is charging for it, so it will fly off the lots. The dealers are obviously slow picking up on this because it wasnt advertised all that hard.
But it's better for the consumer this way.
I'd get one too, but it's no fair for anyone else at the track, I want something that makes me at least have to try to be the fastest. But I may reconsider when I'm ready to go and get that MTI Z06. I'll need an ACR for that.
