Well as alot of you know i'm overseas so i miss my Viper a ton. Soo to deal with my withdrawl my best friend took a few photos for me. So i thought i'd share them. My best friend owns the Trans Am, it has nitrous and runs in the low 11 seconds with nitrous. My Viper is a bit dirty but I think the pics turned out pretty good.

I remember that car from the ******* event. I tried to get him to run me on Hwy 40 heading back towards downtown but there was just too much traffic- go figure.

Haha yah i remember that, he wanted to race you bad, you would have whipped him. Darn traffic lol. Its ok i put a few good ass whippins on him on the way back home ...ON MOTOR ....against him ON THE JUICE ! I must say though he kept up well. That Trans Am can hold its own.

The pinstripes beside your fat stripes really look good. Did you go with the standard 8" wide stripes?

One thing that comes to mind... the Viper is really compact (not "small" but appears like a tightly wound spring) compared to the transam. The late model ones tend to be a bit bulky. Both still bad@$$ though.

No i got my stripes 9" wide. I think a bigger stripe looks better.

Wow very good eyes. He still has the stock wheels so i think hes running. 315's? Not to positive, but yah he hooks really well with those on. I run the BFG's. We hate street tires lol.

Cool pics. What year TA is that? Does that have the 6.6 SD?

1970.5 - first year of the GENII body style

RamAirIII 400 ci (6.6L) 4 speed - 10.25:1 compression ratio and requires mixing leaded race fuel with premium unleaded

Top engine that year was a RAIV, but the RAIII felt pretty nice until I drove the Viper.

SD's (Super Duty) were 455's and only available in 1973 and 74. I know someone with 8 of them.

I guess I have a thing for GENII 1st year and blue with white stripes

I still have them A 1975 455-** and a 1979. They are starting to come into their own in the car collecting world. I've had the '75 for about 6 years now and the '79 for two.

Yeh, I sold them all too early. I always wondered why they took so long to appreciate. It's not like you see GENII TA's on the road everyday anymore.

I was restoring the 70.5 and eventually decided it was more fun to have a car I could just gas and go than work on them every weekend. That plus my son's weren't interested in helping which made it a somewhat an anti-social activity. Bought the Viper to drive and enjoy. After a year or so with both, ended up seling the Trans Am. Now that I see the values starting to climb, I'm having second thoughts. Sold it to a guy that has 75+ Trans Am's, 1969 thru 2000. His collection was missing a Blue 70.5 so he jumped on it. Pontiac Historical says that his collection is the largest running. Ever go to the TA Nationals in Dayton, Ohio? Every August, just west of Wright-Patterson Air Force Museum.

FE+ACR, Your's looked perfect. Assume it is no longer in your possession...? What options did it have?

As much as I love my GTS, the GENII Trans Ams will always be my favorite car.

Can't make out the hatch pattern in the grill, (diamond is 78, hexagon is '77). The T-Tops are Fishers rather than Hurst but thought '78 had blacked out trim and '77's chrome. The scoop seems to sit low in the hood, which is a '77 trait but has the "T/A 6.6" engine decal which is a '78 only option (believe it or not, a whopping 220 SAE Net HP vs. 200 for the standard 400ci engine). Can't see the rear tail lights which is another indicator as '77 were body colored and '78's were blacked out.. Seats look like '77 but not sure. Wheels aren't stock so they're no help......

Tough call but I'd guess the T/A is a 1978.
