VIPER NATIONALS SEPTEMBER 13-14 NORWALK OH

This is it, the big one for the Ohio VCA! The Viper Nationals at Norwalk. You gotta be there! Why? Ohio VCA Hospitality, Viper Car show awards, Viper Drag Racing and the second biggest Mopar Event in Ohio. Norwalk is just down the road from Lake Erie and Cedar Point, so make it a great fall weekend.

This event is held in conjunction with the Chrylser Classic which features 400 Mopar race and show cars. The Ohio VCA provides members Hospitality and refreshments in a tower suite on Saturday. There will be a 20x80 tent for Viper owners to congregate. Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be presented to both GTS and RT/10 car show classes. And of course the biggest Viper Drag racing event in the Midwest.

This years race program is for everyone. A dial in eliminator with a purse of $500 to win, $200 RU and $100 for the Semi. Bone stock or modified, everyone is welcome and has an equal chance to win. For those who want to go Heads Up we have added a Fast 4 bonus event. The fastest four cars, regardless of modifications, will face off for a heads up runoff. The purse for this top eliminator will be $500 to Win and $100 RU. ALL ELIMINATIONS FOR VIPERS WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY SEPT 14! Come on Friday and time trial all day and we'll race on Saturday.

I'm going to try to make it over for this event.
Is there anyone else planning on going from the east (pittsburgh,etc) that would want to meet up coming through the Cleveland area ?

I am a new owner (and soon to be new VCA member)and haven't been to any congregations or events yet, but am looking forward to getting involved.

My primary question is security/safety:
I have a problem leaving my car in a hotel parking lot overnight even if we have "dedicated security" for several cars.
What is the deal with how this works and what are other owner's experience? How does everyone plan on handling security at VOI7 this year?

Norwalk is a very professional track. The World Nationals are held there. It has first class facilities.

Security at the track is very good. 24 hour protection. Vipers are actually in a 20x80 tent in there own fenced in side of the track. If you tow, I'd leave the car at the track.
Hotel? I can't comment other than this location is not in a questionable area. Norwwalk is a Mid America town= low crime. It is a resort area, Cedar Point, Lake Erie Islands are 10mmin up to road. There has never been a problem with a Viper at the Hotels. We can get you a ride to a local Hotel if you want to leave your cars at the track.
