Hope someone here can answer a somewhat technical question......If you order a Viper One of One, it starts out as a GTC. Now if you add either one of the ACR pkgs what
will the VIN ID NUMBER come back as? Will it come back as an ACR? Or will it come back as a GTC? I ask because the loan amounts one can borrow as well as the resale value are affected by the model. And the bank will look at the VIN to determine.

Come back as a GTC, there's no such thing as a Viper ACR Vin. The only way they would know it's an ACR is if they pull the Build Sheet

Viper Jeff....thanks for your answer. But I think there IS a difference between the VIN's of an "ACR" and an "GTC One of One ACR". Below I pasted 4 VIN's of 2015 ACR's that are listed by Viper Exchange. Two of them are for an ACR and two are for GTC One of One ACR:
1C3BDEDZ8GV100190-GTC ACR 1/1
1C3BDECZ9GV100071-ACR
1C3BDEDZ2GV100198-GTC ACR 1/1
1C3BDECZ4GV100155-ACR

Note that the seventh digit is "D" for the GTC 1/1 ACR while for the ACR it is "C". Now if you plug in these very VIN's into a decoder http://dodgeforum.com/forum/vindecoder.php
the decoder will tell you the VIN's with the "D" are a GTC (no mention that it is an ACR) and the VIN's with the "C" are ACR's. So far I have only tried this on these four VINS.

you may be correct sir. I'm away from my database, I'll look when I get home. In years past that 7th digit has been the model (coupe,vert,SRT-10......etc)

I did some more checking using listings of new Vipers on cars.com. Here is what I found:

The below four VIN's are all ACR's and are NOT a 1/1:
1C3BDECZ8GV100076
1C3BDECZ6GV100240
1C3BDECZ4GV100138
1C3BDECZ1GV100145
So all show the seventh digit as a "C" and are an ACR. The decoder pasted above shows "ACR"

The following three VIN's are for a GTC AND they are NOT ACR"S (no ACR pkg option added) nor a 1/1:
1C3BDEDZ1GV100273
1C3BDEDZ0GV100233
1C3BDEDZ7GV100276
The seventh digit is a "D". The decoder shows "GTC"

So far it holds true that a GTC has a VIN that is NOT the same as an ACR's and ACR's have a "C" for their seventh digit. Further, that if you option a GTC 1/1 with the ACR option the VIN still comes back as a GTC. To me this causes problems on loan amounts, resale and rate of depreciation. Example: IF someone where to lease (I do not plan on doing so) the lease payments would be based the depreciation of a GTC not an ACR.

I love learning.... thank You

previously they were shown as 2009 DODGE VIPER SRT-10 TWO DOOR COUPE and the ACR wasn't part of the description. It's actually good to see they added the ACR in the description.... well, until you have to get insurance coverage

I actually don't see the problem, the build sheet would still show that its an ACR

Thanks for the follow up Jeff. It maybe just me BUT I sure would want the VIN of my 1/1 ACR to come back as an ACR and NOT as a GTC. There are several issues down the road with this like I mentioned above: loan amounts, amount you can borrow, depreciation. What if your Viper was stolen? Or totaled in an accident? What would the insurance company base the value on? Most use the VIN. And this becomes even more of a concern since a 1/1 VIper ACR can list way more when you configure it.
Sure would like Dodge to change the VIN assignment for 1/1 ACR's. Yes the BUILD sheet would show the ACR option but most insurance companies and banks use the VIN number to determine value and resale. I am having this very discussion with a bank now. As far as they are concerned it is a GTC for loan purposes. I am not disputing what the build sheet shows but unfortunately it is not the build sheet that controls some of the values used by banks and insurance companies when determining value. They use a VIN decoder just like I pasted above and use that to determine the model, value and rate of depreciation. Not the build sheet.

So as it stands now, if you order a 1/1 ACR you do NOT get an ACR VIN, you get a VIN for a GTC, while an ACR (non 1/1) does get a specific ACR VIN. Again it maybe just me. but if I ordered a 1/1 ACR I want it with the ACR VIN.
Banks, insurance companies, leasing companies, State DMV's all use the VIN number to determine make, model and year not to mention value and depreciation. Getting one of these institutions to use a build sheet if needed at some point is a battle I rather not have.

I understand what your saying. still don't think there would be a problem. Think of all those ACR's built that didn't have ACR in the definition (Gen IV). If damaged, you can ask for all OEM and I think a 1 of 1 Viper ACR would in the long run have more value if the buyer likes the package you put together, it will only take 30 years to learn that. :D

Thank you for the dialog. It will help me in the long run as I work on my DB

And thank you for the help and insight. In the future when Dodge comes out with how many ACR's where built in 2015, 2016 and probably 2017, it will be interesting to see how they brake them out. All ACR's including 1/1;
Just ACR's; Or showing totals for them separately: ACR's / ACR 1/1.

I myself have wondered this as well. For me I have to agree. If I order an ACR I want it to have the appropriate vin. Many cars have been ordered previous years
with odd options, that make them one of one. Not that the GTC program isn't special it is but an ACR is special in its own right.

The only thing I have access to is the digital version. The actual build sheet can be requested through a dealer (ask Woodhouse). I know there's a time limit. I would be happy to PM you a digital version

The model is generally listed on the title as well....so a 1 of 1 ACR may not be listed as an ACR on the title if this is the case.

Well I just learned something too. I plan on ordering an Extreme ACR later this year and now know that I will not be doing the GTC thing. I was originally going to do the GTC route so I could get Race Yellow w/Blk stripes, but now I think I'll go with either Black w/white stripes, or White w/Blk stripes. And since I've already owned a true 1 of 1 bumblebee it just makes the decision easier.
