Okay, below are the much awaited details on the round up...but first a shout out to the SRT folks. IF you are in the neighborhood and want to see a few of Jeff Lemke's creations, there will be some folks there with them on...Not sure if a street serpant will be there, but I know for sure SEVERAL ACR's will be there on hand so if you are thinking about upgrades to your SRT...then come check it out!

Put the final coat of wax on your Viper and head on to the Texas Viper RoundUp! The event we have been waiting for is finally almost here. There is still time yet to spread the word, all Vipers are welcome, and get registered.

As anticipated, we have a full weekend of Viper fun planned that will leave everyone with a smile ingrained on their faces. We will put the Vipers to work and let them breath deeply. We will test the car to ensure its ticker is top shape. We will give your Viper a make-over and shine her all up for nights on the town. We will cruise through the Hill Country, whilst wildflowers dance in the wind. We will let it run wild on the track. It will be a competition of who will have more fun, you or your Viper.

A now, the schedule of events….

Friday April 3rd:
Whether you drive 30 minutes or 15 hours, you arrive at the Marriot with a grand welcoming of a parking lot full of Vipers. What a better way to kick off the weekend? Join the snakes and slither over to Colvin Automotive (leave at 1:00pm, but if you arrive late, you can take the short 20 minute drive over to meet up). Meet the owner K. C. Colvin, whose heart belongs to a prepped GTS, which he enjoys tracking in his spare time. After all the excitement (and we are just getting started) we will refill and have lunch available whilst several events are going on simultaneously.

  • Detailing instruction (inside and outside). Learn from the pro, Steve, founder and owner of Tropi-Care. He knows the tricks of how to give your baby a make over. Steve is the proud owner 2 Vipers and will be joining us from DFW. You will be speechless once you see how Steve can make your car look like it just rolled off the show room floor.

  • Dyno. It is wise to see the doctor regularly for both you and your Viper. And of course, you want only the best care for your Viper! Make sure her ticker is in top shape and that all 10 cylinders are firing. Be prepared to listen to the music- open throttle in a garage environment is like sitting in a symphony hall.

  • Tech session. See the different Viper generations on a lift and get a front row view of the differences. Ask as many questions as you want. This is an open format to learn as much as you like.

  • Meet new friends. Chat up fellow Viper Owners and share your tips, tricks, and advise.

Next up, we head back to the hotel to refresh before dinner. At 6:30pm we will take a quick cruise to the Salt Lick BBQ. Texas is known for its BBQ and the Salt Lick has made a name for itself as the best that the Hill Country has to offer. Fortunately, they have added a location up north and they have a paved parking lot, thank goodness! For those that like to indulge they have an all you can eat BBQ buffet. A great way to fill up, because Saturday will be a fun filled day!

Saturday April 4th :
We start the day off with the driver’s meeting at 10:00am and head out at 10:30am. Be prepared for a full day of driving, eating, snapping breath taking (garage framing) photos and you will come back full of stories! The route will be even better than last year…and yes, that says a lot! We will break for lunch on the lake at The Pier. The restaurant is actually on the water, hence the name. Don’t forget to bring your sunscreen and shades and be ready to kick back and chill (for a bit). After cooling down, we will head out and hit the back roads for a trip you surely won’t forget…turns, hills, views, and 50+ Vipers in the pictures…how many of you have done that before and have a picture to show for it??? This is your opportunity!

Along the drive we have a surprise stop planned. You have to be there to be in the know. The only hint we will give is that it is a Texas Hill Country Wonder.

The drive back into town will lead us to dinner at Dave & Busters. After a full day of playing on the roads with your Viper, now we will play so more! Besides great food and drinks Dave & Busters has so much to offer. There’s something about a little competition between friends that turns any time into a great time. Whether you’re into shooting zombies and racing cars, or playing a civilized game of billiards, they’ve got the game for you.

We have a private room reserved for just us, where we will get a chance to swap stories, show pictures, and have some friendly racing competition in-doors. During dinner we will have a silent auction to benefit the Club, so we can host this event again next year. Just be sure to leave yourself enough gas money for Sunday! Plus we have reserved parking so be on the look out for a photo of your Viper to appear on facebook!

Sunday April 5th :
The Grand Finale! We start the day off with the driver’s meeting at 9:30am and head out at 10am. Just in case you had not had enough fun yet, we are going to Temple Raceway so you can get what you have left in your system out on the track. Temple Raceway is a 1/8 mile IHRA dragstrip located near Academy, Texas. For those of you that have not taken your car to the track before, this is a great safe environment to see what your car was made to do and have some (more) fun. Even if you do not wish to participate, please join in the fun as a spectator. Be there at the track and watch it all happen before your eyes. Or come for some nostalgia, the track opened in 1957.

Before taps and we have to say good-byes or rather until next time, we will grab a bite to eat before everyone hits the road in their separate directions.

So, to recap…a short 3 day weekend FILLED TO THE GILLS with Viper fun! Your car will thank you and you will thank yourself for a chance to really enjoy your car, meet great people, and have a GREAT time! There are no registration costs and all Vipers are welcome. This is a great opportunity to meet the Viper community. There will be Vipers from all over including Barb, all the way from Utah. And this will be her second year; she is coming back for more! Now, what other reasons do you need? Come out and join us!

The hotel of choice is Marriott Spring Hill Suites. We have a block of rooms and be sure to speak with the front desk to make your reservation and mention the “Texas Viper RoundUp”. You must do so before March 20th. Outside the block the Hotel is full, so be sure to make your reservation right away! They have secure parking (one way in and one way, and patrolled by Round Rock Police), easy access from I-35 and outside of Austin traffic.

Here is a link to last years Pictures…enjoy!
