Viper storage and car cover

Anyone have any recommendations on good car covers that won't mess with a mirror like paint job? I've heard of some covers causing bad swirel marks or dust scraping.

What about storing the car? I won't have a garage until the fall, so I need to find a place to keep the snake at night. It's not a daily driver, but I will be out in it regularly during the summer (and leave my other car in it's place when I'm out). I was thinking a self-storage place or maybe perhaps a nearby boat storage place (if it's a come-and-go at anytime business). Public Storage has a unit the car would fit in but it's nearly $200 a month. Anyone have any thoughts?

I was in the same situation as you for the first year I owned my GTS. The car lived under a car cover. I used a cover because my biggest concern was not the weather, rather the damn cats in the neighborhood climbing on it and scratching it. Remember that if you're out driving the car around, and then return home at night to cover it, your car has accumulated dust. So you're going to need to go over the car with a California duster before you cover it. I had an Evolution 4 cover (same as factory cover), and because it breathes, it will let a little water through in the event of rain. So you'll end up going over the car with a towel or detail spray.

The cover is better than not having one, but it will discourage you from driving the Viper, as it's a hassle. If it's only for a few months, the storage unit might be a better bet. But of course, going to the storage unit, etc, is also a pain.

Yikes, California dust it and then another 10 minutes every time you drive the car

Dusting it everytime wouldn't be too much of a pain, it's not going to be a daily driver and it'll have a garage before too long.

I just don't like the fact of leaving it outside overnight even with a cover on (I'm in a good neighborhood but that doesn't mean something won't happen). I think renting a garage is the only way for me to have piece of mind until I get my own, I'll just have to find a place that rents one cheap. $200/month seems kind of ridiculous to me. What are some prices you guys are seeing with storage rental? I'm sure I'll have a boat someday and I doubt storage costs for that are $200/month.

Looks like 10-15 minutes to fully inflate the capsule. Actually getting the car in and out would take too long at all. Not too bad of an investment if you ask me, even the biggest capsule is under $500.

The hardest part to the capsule is you need to pull the car strait on to the bottom part of the capsule if you turn your wheels the capsule will twist and you then can not zip it up. To inflate the capsule it only takes a few minutes.
