back to Arrow!!! Thank God for the extended warranty. Both heads are leaking and tech says he has ordered a crate from DC to send it back in. Told me that Dodge doesn't want dealers to repair this problem.....Question: What will they do to the engine? Seems like a long way to send the motor just to replace a couple of head gaskets.

Paul, my '93 went through the Arrow rebuild. A local Five Star dealer did the job with the following Five Star improvements:
1- Broken windshield
2- Broken airbox
3- Fuel leak
4- Oil leak
5- No AC
Beware, there are some VERY BAD Five Star dealers out there!
Carefully inspect your car at the dealership before & after the work. Put it on the hoist & inspect it for leaks before you drive it home. The cars are great but many dealers stink!
Hope that this helps you prevent the problems that I had.
Good luck.

That's exactly why if mine were ever leaking...new gaskets will be put on by me and nobody else...

I don't care who says what...the main reason for the leaky gaskets is just that - the gaskets. Poor, thin design for Gen 1 engines. Plus, the constant expansion/contraction of the aluminum combined with poor gasket design = leaks. Remember years ago when many imported cars with aluminum heads required 20,000/30,000 mile mandatory had gasket retorquing intervals? What about 2.2 Chryslers with turbos and aluminum headed motors? Bad gasket design..

Arrow Rebuild provides "23-point inspection" and rebuild.

You will be well-pleased. You are FORTUNATE the gasket went.

Use the SEARCH KEY and check "Arrow Rebuild" and a HUGE thread was here a few months ago

I have done many GENI Headgaskets over the years and they are running FINE! I would not put a Customer through the AGONY of waiting months for His or Her Baby to come home, ESPECIALLY just for a gasket problem!! In and out in two DAYS!

Sounds crazy to me to have the motor pulled and sent away just for head gaskets. Like Chuck said, in and out before you even miss it. As far as the arrow rebuild being so strong, if tolerances are good in the motor, shouldn't you basically get the same motor back? I would go elsewhere so you don't loose time on the car and possible problems when they remove the motor.

I've been told by other Viper owners in the area that the tech at this dealer (Cardinal Dodge, Louisville KY) is "TOP OF THE LINE". I've talked with him and was very impressed with his candor.... You know this is sorta like picking a personal physician. All you can do is talk with them and go with your instincts. My "instinct" tells me that this Viper Tech is "second to none" - He can work on my car anytime!
