I just got done installing the Vipermed (Scott Vipers by ELite) Airbox and all I can say is WOW. This puts the finishing touches on a beautiful Roe SC install! It is like these were meant to be sold together. My engine compartment looks fantastic, at least by my standards.

I don't know how many of you know the way Gen1's get their air to the engine but I was educated by Scott; it comes through the front facia in front of the radiator and into an airbox. I never knew until I got scotts' TWO piece airbox. I was thinking what is this extra piece for? He then told me to crack open my hood, don't open it all the way but just raise the front of the hood as high as you can (8 inches or so) and look down there at the 4 or so screws holding in that plastic plate.

I took off the plate and low and behold there was nothing but air there. I am going what a great idea! Get air from the underneath of the car like every other car plus get the ram air from the scope. By now I am really starting to like it.
On to the good stuff.

So I went out tonight for a little test drive. I go to my private test track and do a usual 1-4 romp and all I could say to myself was, this is Larrys' saying "I am really hauling the mail now". I couldn't believe it! It felt like I got 30RWHP. I know it sounds to good to be true but I am just giving you my SOTP feel. I could literally tell the difference. I have the BFG 18" DR and I can usually spin them just ever so slightly in first but tonight I was breaking them loose with authority.

I plan on going to the Dyno to get real results hopefully this week and I will post them. Also, the dyno my not tell me anything so I am also going to the drag strip to see if I can pick up any MPH trap speed. I will post the results but needless to say I am a very happy SC'er owner

Scott, I know how anal you are about fingerprints in the engine compartment but I was in a hurry.

I have a feeling that 750RWTQ goal will be met when I go to the dyno.

That's great. Engine compartment looks really good. Nice to see more pics of Vipermed's awesome airbox. It will be interesting to see what gains come of it when you dyno your Viper and put it through its paces.

Awesome install!

Did you spec Vipermed's airbox vs. SnakeOyls' carbon fiber box before making your decision? If so, any feedback?

Thanks Todd.great job now lets get rid of those greasy fingerprints.I hate to use this thread as a platform. But for those that do not want to dish out the money for this complete system we are now offering a BRAND NEW patent pending product that will allow you to utilize you factory air box and also get the added benefits of airflow from where it should truly be utilized, this new "vipair" system will seal directly to your factory box and allow you to use the NACA duct and frt. facia for air induction. This will also be a great cosmetic enhancement to your viper as they will come powder coated in the color of your choice. This system will sell for About $300 but for the first four customers that are willing to dyno test this new product on there car we are offering them at half price, and yes we do have YELLOW.these four are avail. for shipment immediatly. This product is a joint effort between myself and Steve Prescott(edmonton GTS)and will be available through both of our locations.I will be posting pictures this afternoon

Vipermed,

A few questions:

1.) Will the rain duct (or whatever it is called) remain? I assume it will, since the factory NACA duct + box is used.

2.) Can this be used with the Roe SC?

3.) Currently, I am using stock TB's. Although, I may upgrade to 70mm in the future. Will this system work with either size TB with the Roe SC? Or can it be modified to fit different size tubes?

4.) Am I understanding correctly that this system will give ALL the HP/Torque benfits of your current system, but at a cheaper cost and altered appearance.

** I'd love to save $150, so save me a spot pending pictures and answers to the above questions.

Keep up the good work!

1.....Yes

2.....Definetly

3....As it sits in the front of the box T.B size is of no issue

4....I dont know that it is going to give all of the power of our higher end system, but i assure you that it will increase your #s and more importantly high speed power gains will be the best benefit. In our opinion this is a product that will compliment all Gen2s........how can it not?
