Please ignore me if this is a stupid question, I'm still kind of new here. Have they ever done one a bit further north? It would be awesome to not have to drive for 3 days to go to one. I've never been to VOI, but it's on my list!

Driving to and from with a large group of Vipers is half the fun.

I can only imagine how fun that must be, I've only ever cruised with 2 or 3 before. It would be pretty exciting to see tons of them together.

It's about an 18 hour drive southeast to Detroit from me here in southern Manitoba, but that VOI location makes perfect sense. I've got a road trip to get some track time in MN coming up again in 2 weeks, and it's tricky even to get a group of guys (not even in Vipers) to drive 6 hours each way for that.

When everyone thinks of Canada, it's usually Toronto or Vancouver area. Not much ever happens right in the middle where I am. I just wondered how far north it has gone in the past.

Get your passports ready.

Inside info says Ontario. :)

:D

I heard that if VOI 13 does happen in Ontario, that there will be a man wearing this shirt at the boarder ready to **** out red Vipers.

Hasn't it been that the chosen venue is opposite side of the country from the previous VOI? Last VOI was East Coast previous was sort of West Coast and before that ..... seems like the Tail of the Dragon area is too close to last VOI, West Coast people would not be happy.

Correct. Most likely Midwest to pacific. Somewhere in there.

Interesting factoid. Most people want the VOI's held close to their homes to make the travel more convenient, however after every VOI this forum is flooded with posts on how fantastic a time they had on the drive with organized slithers. Often times the drive to and from the event is an even greater adventure than the event itself.

I spoke to a couple San Diego guys that shipped their cars to Charlotte, and then drove home. While they enjoyed the heck out of racing on the NASCAR oval, driving on the 4 lane dragstrip, and being able to drive the soon to be released Gen V Vipers, the transcontinental trip back home was the part that is burned most vividly into their memories.

While I understand that VOI's have tended to be moved around the regions to experience different parts of this great country, it perhaps is the people that drive the furthest that get the better part of the deal.

I noticed they never give out awards to the people that drive the shortest distance at car events.

I have to agree. Every VOI has been a decent drive. And the drive was half the fun for sure! Something about a road trip is fun, but doing one with multiple vipers....yeah. Bring on a SoCal VOI. Good long drive. :)

For those clubs that wish to host a VOI, it is up to their President to float a proposal. Their local knowledge is a tremendous help to the National Club that needs to choose a site.

If your club is active, and has good organizational skills, they can recommend host hotels, tracks and venues for the cruise. VOI's need a hotel that is large enough to handle the attendees, VIP's, Chrysler and SRT employees, vendor space, a venue for memorabilia, a track that is reasonably prices and available for the dates.

This should become a topic at club meetings and events. An exploratory team can be put together, and perhaps your region could be the winner.
