I am planning to install Vortex Cones along with High Flow RT cats and a 3" Corsa Track exhaust system. I am of the opinion they should be installed after the RT cats, but before the Corsa Exhaust. Is this correct? I don't think you can put them after the mufflers without impacting the fit and finish of the exhaust tips. Has anyone successfully done this?

Why don't add the Random Tech cats to the trash also...
Beware of the hanger problem...

Dad feels they would be best used anywhere downstream of the headers (closer to the opening) because it gives the cones time to "slow down" the flow enough to let the mufflers do a better job of quieting down the sound before it leaves the system.

The further up you put them, the less effective they get to be at holding back the exhaust enough to let the mufflers quiet it down more.

Others have said closer to the opening too. So I guess its anyones guess...

I would try it closer to the opening of the exhaust (exits near the bottom of the doors, right before they bend out.

Keast,

They work.

I tried them just behind the collector and they didn't work quite at well as behind the mufflers. You want them to slow the exhaust slightly so that the mufflers have more time to quiet the system.

Keep in mind that the Corsa Track was developed to work with your stock cats. Also, they were not developed to work with headers.

I'd recommend you put the Corsa Track behind your stock cats as it was designed to work that way. HF cats in place of stock cats with a Corsa Track will make your car fairly loud and you won't gain much hp or tq.
