Not sure if the actual manufacturer provides the vehicles on shows like Top Gear weather it be the American or European version but if it does would SRT happily provide a genV to Jeremy Clarkson for the European version of Top Gear?

We are looking at different materials to help manage the heat that is getting into the cockpit, along with improving the A/C system.
One of the common complaints among Viper owners (in hot climates especially) is the amount of heat entering the interior of the car through the floor area (not just the side sills). Have there been any significant improvements in reducing heat transfer to the driver compartment beyond the side exhaust/door sill area? It seems like the A/C system could use a little more capacity to keep up with this massive heat generating V10!

Very nice of the Viper Engineering Team to stay late for us..................I'm sure it has been countless late nights to get the Gen V to this point.

Anyone know if they are going to offer viper specific courses like they did in the 90s for the techs? Or will it just be included in the level 4 training that is currently out there?

Our PR gurus are talking to the Top Gear folks. I can't wait to hear what Clarkson has to say about it.

We can't discuss future product, I mean movies...

Stryker starring in a certain Michael Bay movie, slaying GM-bots would make for a blockbuster. That's all I'm saying.

On a serious note, the Gen V looks fantastic in every way. SRT - thanks for continuing the legend.

Dealers will have to have Viper certified techs to be able to sell the cars. Those technicians will have to pass a number of prerequisites and then travel to a handful of locations that will teach the Viper courses. It will be a pretty extensive requirement. Vipers will also be allocated to these dealers based on SRT and historic Viper sales

Any idea when this training will start? We have already had a handful of people put deposits now. Unfortunately we are a new dealer and only been open since November

Thanks for tuning into today's web chat VCA members! SRT Engineering had a nice evening fielding your questions, and we hope you weren't offended for those questions we couldn't answer.

Please check out the upcoming VIPER magazine for more info on Gen 5, and we'll have more info in the coming months at www.driveSRT.com

Thanks!

Thanks for taking the time to do this.

One comment about the 640 HP. If I were buying one that would be fine with me since my ZR1 takes superchargers to get that kind of HP.

Bob,

The Gen V intake will physically fit however the new Gen V cylinder heads have an additional machining operation for captured torque limiters that are needed to ensure the composite isn’t cracked or broken during installation. These limiters could be removed and the intake could be bolted on with on with care. A better approach would be to machine the heads to accept the torque limiters.

The Gen V intake would offer a significant improvement on a Gen IV engine (again, about +20 lb-ft and +10 hp). This is a good candidate for a Mopar package that would include torque limiters modified for the Gen IV head, stay tuned!

Thanks for taking the time answer the question guys! :) Looking forward to seeing what you guys have up your sleeves. :)
