After getting home from church this morning I had to leave the house again to go meet with someone. Turning onto the two lane highway from my home's access road there was a westbound motor home with a two wheel car carrier in tow. I was east bound, and at the exact moment we were passing each other his car carrier caught the first post on a small span creek bridge we were on. That trailer combined with the weight of the motor home peeled the guard rail right off all the posts and out into traffic along with the pieces of his trailer as it disintegrated. Had I pulled onto that highway a half second later I would have been wearing that guard rail for braces. The sound and proximity to that impact literally shook my car. I pulled over to examine what I knew to be extensive damage to my car. I was pleased to find none, but I was shaken a bit. Scared me so bad I had sucked the suede right off the seat. It goes to show that one minute everything is fine and the next second your time could be up. Be safe you all.
