I was browsing through the Greddy sight and saw a item called the Rebic IV which looks like a stand alone fuel system that basically just uses extra injectors before the throttle boddies to dump extra fuel into the system. Would this help out on a Paxton set up at all or would it be a waste of time and money?

The Rebic IV is designed to help add additional fuel to any force induction system. Install additional injector(s) on your charge pipe or intake and program the Rebic IV to contorl the new dutty cycle This unit works independently form any other system, this means it can supplement your main system (factory, stand-alone, even carburetors.) Control 1 to 8 sub-injectors, by tuning in a fuel map from three adjustable parameters: Boost, RPM, and Injector Duty Cycle.

Don't know about that product but in principle - yes that type of setup can work really well. Phasing the extra injectors in smoothly can be a challenge - they tend to create a Jeckyl and Hyde setup where the motor will go from mild to insane the instant they phase in. They can also create disgusting mpg if not mapped correctly.

Some do not like them and prefer to just run bigger injectors. Both have their place. Personally, I would not be afraid of piggy back systems or extra injectors - DLM uses them and they go pretty good ;) :2tu:

you must remember however that Doug has put a lot of R & D into his systems - so his systems will not suffer from uneven fuel distribution problems that COULD beset a private attempt. Only way to know will be to monitor all 10 cylinders simultaneously when you dial it in.

that is old way to tune the car. it will work if it's plumed into every intake manifold runners. if it's plumed into intercooler pluming then it's not the best way to go because it will not have even a/f ratio in each cylinder. it's best to go with bigger injectors and tune the car.

I dunno if I would go that route + paxton. That is basically throttle body injection, and that was "high tech" back in like 1982. TBI systems have been given up in favor of EFI, then TPI, and lately SFI. Your car is always going to be better with one injector per cylinder, IMO, just like the factory setup.

I have seen the paxton kit firsthand. I think the 8-rib belt with a spring tensioner will never hold any type of power.

I think that people will spend a lot more money that they think to try to beef up the bargain-price system.

The Paxton kit should be viewed for what it is: ==> A mild HP addition to the baddest a$$ car on the planet.

If you want more power, get a professionally fabricated, tuned and installed kit from the likes of Jason Heffner or DLM.

The Roe kit has more potential to upgrade to bigger power than the Paxton.

Just my .02

I've seen the Rebic used on a few Supras. Problem is, the manifolds these days on the Supra are designed to flow air, not air/fuel, so the fuel tends to stick to some walls. Also the rear 2 cylinders got a little less than the front. I have personally heard of 2 Supra engines in Australia with Rebics blowing holes in #6 piston from running lean.

I would much prefer to use higher fuel pressure, a rising rate fuel pressure regulator or bigger injectors.
