What are must have MOD\'s on 01 GTS ACR

I'm looking to join the Viper club in about 3 months. Yes I'm keeping my 01 Vette

What would be the bolt on MOD's to get me going. Also what is the difference between 01 and 02

It depends on how much you want to spend. The sky is the limit.
My must haves though are: At least a Cat back system of some sort
I would like to get headers once the
check engine light problem is solved.
Smooth tubes and high flow filters
Sean Roe's fan kit
MGW accessories- get them all!
From there it's up to you!
Good luck,
Steve

No differences '01-'02 exc color. You DID say ACR in the header, so you already will have the smoothe intake tubes and K+N Filters. Get an extended warranty for sure, within factroy warranty period. Best investment you can make, even if you plan to sell it in 3-4 years.

1) Learn to set your ACR shocks for YOU, and then do it.
2) Cat-back exhaust.....maybe hiflow cats and headers.
--Stay-aware of possible check-ingine lite info...
3) 3.55 rear gear.
4) Maybe an aluminum flywheel....

1 - Short throw shifter.
2 - Headers and full 3" exhaust (w/wo cats). John B. is totally right about the ce light. I got it and it displeases me greatly. Most, maybe all, sellers and manufacturers don't address it at all during the sales cycle.
3 - Modified air box (loose the H2O deflector).
4 - Big brakes (maybe this should be no. 1?).

Phase II - Cam, roller rockers, if you don't mind compromising top speed then 3.54 gears, the sky is then the limit .....

The most useful upgrade is a software upgrade for the driver. The massive torque can be very challenging. A few Skip Barber programs will get you on the right track to maximize your driving experience.

I suggest the following progression:
A. 2 day school (VCA members get a 25% discount)
B. A couple Car Control Clinics (VCA members get a 10% discount)
C. Three Day Racing School (VCA members get a 10% discount)

After the Three Day Racing school you can go to participate in Skip Barber, scheduled, lapping days at any track across the country. I try to do as many lapping days as possible every year, in an attempt, to keep my eyes, hands, feet and a** working together.

After C. above Viper Days (well organized with safety as a major component) would be a blast as well as many other open track events.

Before A. and after C.above Autocrossing is a good activity to get a feeling for your ability to control the Viper's torque, braking features in a safe venue.
