I'm getting ready to change plugs and wires and I noticed this...what goes here or better yet what used to go here?

Those holes are used to pull the engine. There are special brackets that bolt into the holes to lift the engine out. There is one on the other head also. It is in the rear on the other side because the heads can be used on either side.

My gen 1 ('94) has a sensor (temp?) plugged in there. Doesn't seem to matter if it's connected or not... :dunno: I'd like to know what it's doing if anyone knows.

LifeIsGood, you have actually raised a good point...for those looking at buying a Viper. As XLR8 said, engine pulling bracket attachment sites can be a good spot to look closely since these points can be left "scarred" from the pulling process...have seen some of said scars on allegedly "straight" cars who indeed had had the engines removed for "unrecorded" repairs.

jdeft1, the 4 cars that I referenced above were 96 (Gen I) RT/10, 97,99,and 01 GTS's...could not get to the 95 to check against your observation. Anyone else help here?
