First off, many thanks to Mike and Bob for allowing me to visit the very first SRT to show up in Kansas City. It was parked on the showroom floor at Jay Wolfe Dodge for the day until they picked it up tonight. I zipped over with the wife, who had not seen the SRT in person yet. I shot lots of photos, with more to follow.

Now, what you are looking at above is a picture of the actual windshield wiper itself. One of the techs pointed it out to me: The entire blade and support at the end are rubber! I used very little effort (two fingers) and it bends backwards like this. Engineering genius or really streaky windows? I prefer to think the former. Heck, since the "speakers" in the hood are gone, this can be the new thing to amuse the kids...

Watch this space for more pictures!

Unbelievably, they have already converted this car for taxi service!

Okay, okay - it is a sign telling everybody that the car is SOLD and to very politely keep their grubby paws off it!

Lord Vader, your cruiser has arrived...

The lenses are crystal clear and the lights inside look like European headlights. It has a mirrored "floor" inside the lense, as you can see from the reflection. Very trick!

One window sticker coming up!

Four observations:

 1.
The car is now 88% US/Canadian parts content, vs. the 85% on my 2000 GTS

The stereo is NOT 500 watts as the reviews have suggested, instead it is 310 watts (liked the idea of 500 MUCH better)

The gas mileage is identical to my 2000 GTS sticker (heard other Gen II's showed 11/21?)

Optional equipment? Yep! "Customer Preferred Package 21A" Sure I hope I got that, whatever it is!

Holy crap! Is that REALLY the rear differential I see just by standing behind the car?

Sure is! Looks like we won't need to jack it up for that '70 Chevelle look after all!

Interestingly enough, some of the test cars had a black mesh screen in this area behind the back grill. Oh, and that rear diffuser is pretty darn cool looking too...

Okay, so not all of my shots were good. Still, you get the idea: This car is taking in some serious air to stay cool!

Mmmmm, good!

Another blurry shot, but one seriously nice backside. Big 19" wheels stuffed under a low widebody. Add that rear diffuser and this beauty looks like it was made to deliver some serious business...

I would say the car is missing the rear screen. That does not look like any of the SRT's I've seen. He may want to ask the dealer to check it out.

Great photos.

Instead of the little red light on the dash for security, the front "stem" of the rearview mirror lights up in red. Looks very modern, even though I could not time myself well enough to catch it lit up. Oh, and look at that fit on the roof by the windshield. Tight!

The rear brake caliper now has the Viper logo as well. You may also notice that the parking brake gets its own caliper (lower right). Same on both wheels. Nice...

Notice the side inserts have their own louvers to keep small deer from being pulled in...

If there was to be anything to carry over, I would love to have seen the GTS-style brake light with Fangs...

And to think it looks even better with the top down!

My thanks again to Mike and Bob for letting me go take pictures of their new car. The windows were up or I would have tried to get some interior shots for you. I even called Mike personally to make sure it was okay if I touched his windshield wiper. Of course, they called when they picked up and informed me that I had broken it...

Awesome car!!

Hope you enjoyed these humble photos. When I get my car (ARRIVED AT WOODHOUSE TODAY!!!) you can count on pictures of every angle of the car in better light. You can also count on a VERY lengthy, mind-numbing, no-holds-barred review. Of course, more driving impressions when the (*&%@$! snow melts...

Chris,

When I drove mine from Woodhouse in December, I did get caught on some wet roads and following the break-in procedures I was getting passed a lot by trucks and the water was getting on my windshield. I had the wipers on and I don't know if it was just new or not, but there was no streaking. They were working great. It was dark at that time and I had no problem with on coming traffic. I would say they are cool. Heck the whole car is cool.

Plenty of awesome angles I must say...Only let down appears to be the rather starke looking side vents...Oh well, most will get a good look at the rear differential I suppose!

Chris,
Great shots, Bill P sent me an e-mail to let me know that our snake will be in our snake pit buy Sat. can't wait.
We were in the same boat as you in that we were going to do a factory pickup but it got to late into winter. Our vin is 109 and the car was one of the first Woodhouse cars to go to J but with the mix up on the pickup we've been in limbo while Mr. P tried to get it shipped. If I can do it I'll post some photos of the pit when the SRT-10 is home.

Come on Billy P,
