I think everybody thinks their cars are worth more than they really are. It is a shame they have to depreciate at all but what can you do.

I would have to agree with "agentF1." These cars are going to loose value and it is hard to control. I am looking at a 2001 ACR on eBay and it has ONLY 1000 MILES and it has a buy it now for $58,000. The reserve is probably around $55,000. I do not mean to anger people but I can tell you that the average Viper enthusiasts that wants to buy a 2002 ACR is not going to spend mid to high $70's especially with 5000 Miles. New you might have a chance but that is almost impossible.

Some of you guys like Agent remind me of day traders surfing the net trying to drive prices down so they can sell short! What other attitude would we expect you to have when you aspire to Viper ownership? I can also tell you that whatever hit in resale a Viper will take you can triple on your mass produced special being built in the Cadillac plant in Bowling Green. And I bet that comment will pi$$ you off as it should as it attacks YOUR cars resale value. Heck Agent, if prices are so depressed on Vipers why haven't you bought yet? This stuff is common on every car board I have ever been on, try M5 boards sometime....unbelievable how many posers are on there talking about depressed values...each one of them hoping to email the potential seller who asked the question about how much my car is worth after they explain to him how stupid he is to expect anything north of nothing for it. Jeez!

As long as folks ask for opinions as to value I plan to give honest feedback. I don't necessarily like the way I see it but people are soliciting for opinions. Currently on my third Viper so I feel qualified.

Drove my first Viper 13K miles and one year later sold it for only $1K less than I bought it.

Sold my '99 for $1.5K more than I bought it 6 weeks prior

Bought my '02 new for $11K under sticker one year ago

Buyers of Vipers need to be prudent - you can find deals!

It is quite obvious that the problem with the value going down so much is that the morons buying the vipers bought them for a few laughs and now are just dumping them. Those are the idioys that are killing the value of all Vipers. If some clown can pay $90k for a hand made brand new ACR and then dump it for $30k less then that person should be shot and the hit payed for by all Viper owners. The problem is that the people that buy Ferraris and some 911 Turbos have good money and dont just buy them only to dump them later. The Ferrari has a high end following while most of the people that buy Vipers are Corvette and Mustang mechanics that are just a bunch of small time wanna bees. They then realize that they cant afford it and then destroy the value of the Viper forever. As you can tell I am very ********** because these idiots should never have bought the car to begin with and stayed with the Mustang. Once someone sells a Viper for such a reduced value the value is destroyed for good.

What concerns you most, if the value goes down?

- Resale value?
- Loss of exclusivity as "morons" start to buy vipers?
- ..
