What is fastest you\'ve driven in the rain ??

I recently hit 150mph, and surprisingly the car felt pretty [******] stable. I was passing my friend in his Vette in 4th and just decided to go wot for first time ever in the rain. I was shocked that the car hooked so I just took her to 150 and hit the brakes ever so lightly lol. It was a light drizzle not a down pour btw:p I also hit 175mph again in the top of 5th with my 3.55 gears. I think the car would pull in 6th but I ran out of road

Come on, no one is as crazy or stupid as I on this forum? There's gotta be someone out there that has gone faster in the rain in their Viper ;)

Forget that - I like to keep it sticky side down so she never sees rain!

Truth is, I don't have enough time in the day to keep 6 cars clean so it's easier to drive the '******' in the rain only and keep the others to a detail only routine...

I did have my SS up to *gasp* 75mph on the highway in a torential Texas downpour...just trying to get home a bit faster. This was about 2 years ago. Well, I begin to slow for the toll booths we have around here and start to angle into the next lane...and nothing happens. Matter of fact, nothing happens until I slow gradually to 30mph or so, then she bites again. It's really the only time in my life that I've experience such hydroplaning - not since, not before...nothing like that.

BFG g-force's are not kind in the wet...at all. They just don't work. They act as flat bottom barges.

That's the last time she saw rain actually...

110 through a hurricane in Louisiana on the way to some very high speeds in West Texas.

Just a reminder for you Pecos boys, the half-life on these things is incredible:

as far as I know Gen 1 tires **** in the rain big time. There was also a 92 rt 10 that came with us and he could not break 70mph cause of traction issues. I never felt at all in danger with the car so I just kept the hammer down, I guess I got lucky big time

I have hydroplaned before in my 65' chevy. It had 31x14 MT's in the back. So I really respect water on the road now, especially with alot of thread on the ground. I am the slowest sucka on the road when it is raining.

LOL, I sometimes run 33x12.5 MT's on my Ram (all the way around). They're Baja Belted HPs, off-road tires mainly designed for high flotation in sand and light mud. It's like driving a boat.

The Pilot Sports really pump a lot of water. I forget the exact figure now, but I looked it up one time, it was impressive. Like the Ray-Sing Skool teachers say: You Can Go Just As Fast In The Rain... In A Straight Line.

Re: What is fastest you\'ve driven in the rain ??

considering i live in a damnn rainforest, im used to rain; fastest i can recall was driving thru newyork on I90 going to niagara falls doing from 90-110mph depending upon rain intensity and traffic. ended up getting pulled over when i was at a 95mph section, cop complemented the car *********** for a couple mminutes and gave me a slip to have my exhaust inspected to make sure it was "ok" otherwise no ticket and a good day to you. cool dude.

every time i have driven in rain it handles just fine. regarding turns and corners, i always take it down a notch more than normal just in case, and as for shifting; keep it soft
