Just point them to the 'One Lap of America' competition, where high performance street cars compete at many tracks (usually all road courses, except 1 drag 1 oval) across the country (once a year). The Viper holds the record for winning 3 years in a row, if memory serves. I believe it has the most wins of any car since it's production date. It just comes down to jealousy, to be honest.

It doesn't surprise me that folks feel this way, since in many ways, the Viper doesn't make sense.

The press calls the Viper a Muscle Car. Muscle Cars only go straight. If the press thought the Viper could turn they would call it a sports car.

Dodge builds trucks and minivans, not sports cars.

The Viper has a big engine. Nimble cars have small engines, therefore the Viper cannot be nimble.

The Viper is a modern Cobra. Cobras never handled well. Therefore, the Viper doesn't handle well.

I'm not saying any of these things are true, but it's easy to see how thoughts along these lines would sway opinion on the Viper.

Your right, the problem is most people that make these comments have never driven a Snake and are making assumptions!
