I believe it should be at about 500 when it doesnt fluctuate like the throtte body needs to be cleaned.

900 RPMs at cold start up and between 750 and 800 RPMs when warmed up. Youse guys are reading the tach all wrong - the first line is 500 RPMs and the second smaller line is 750 RPMs.

Agree with Kenny. You are probably misreading the tach. I also thought the same thing with my first Viper.

Sun Ra Kat is right. Look at where the lines are. The first line on the tack is 500 RPM's. I bet your cars are running closer to 800 when you think it's 300.

I just ran my car on the scan tool, idle was 672-679 for five different sessions.

I was fooling with the VEC2 and I flushed the computer and restarted the car. The idle came back to the same exact spot (672). This is read thru the OBDII port. Another interesting point is the temperature. I just put in the 180 degree thermostat. When the gauge shows 12:00, the scan tool shows 190. When the car normalizes at 179, the gauge is a little to the right of the 11:00 mark.

I also just installed the Innovative air fuel logger. The price is right and the capability is amazing. I currently can log both a/f and rpm's. It reads directly or downloads to the laptop. If anyone is interested I can post the pic's of the install.

Is there any reason why mine idles at about 1400 when the car is rolling, but slows to 800-900 as soon as I come to a complete stop? It is the same whether the car is in neutral with the clutch out or when I am holding the clutch in.

Not sure if this is normal or something wrong with my clutch, etc.
