I'm probably going to replace my 5 points in the ACR. Looking for nice looking high quality system that will install onto the existing anchors. From those of you using a system, what is your vote and where did you buy. I've always thought of Simpson and Momo as high quality saftey restraint system.

I appreciate your help, it will go a long ways to helping me do my research and make my decision.

I replaced my ACR restraints with Schroth. I took a few weeks to talk with several race safety equipment suppliers and came to the conclusion that Schroth was one of the best and they are used in some F1 cars. Many systems are likely good but I wanted what was considered the best. Schroth does a lot of testing to provide the best possible restraining systems.

I had Schroth harnesses in my 1993 and my 1996 GTS. They make a good harness, as does Simpson. {Momo is often made by others.} When I became aquainted w/ Team Tech's padded harnesses c/o Janni Cone at VOI-6 I decided to switch. The adjusting hardwear on the Schroths were breaking, and the the belts heavily worn. (my fault-likley- HEAVY use in pace car activity)

I discovered that Team Viper's choice, and Tommy Archer and Bobby Archer's "life-saving" choice is Team Tech. Tommy told me himself that he credits the padded harness with saving him from even more serious injuries earlier this year. Team Tech PROVIDES the anchors to D-C for the OEM Viper harnesses, as well as most motorsports harnesses at Dodge. I also believe they are the "prefered" harness at Viper Days.

Snap-In / Snap-Out hardware is a great option. Several custom color combinations - 7 colors to choose. Up to 3 colors per harness, and Special VIPER fittment hardware,no extra charge from PartsRack. [Allows unrestricted use of OEM belts.] Also, you may choose {No extra charge} "pull-up" lap belt adjusters, for easier adjustment in a Viper w/ doors closed! Rotary buckle is on the SUB, so NO sill dents /chips !

Custom sizing for X-large / V-small bodied adults. Re-web belts any time they are damaged / soiled / expired for a deep discount.
6-point harnesses available for a reasonable upcharge.

Please call or E-me to discuss colors, prices, install. THANKS

I have had Simpson belts and my current car has Schroth belts. The quality compared with Simpson is truely a cut above. They are really awesome and comfortable. The plastic covered buckles are delicate on the interior. Stick with quality! Schroth, Willians and Sabelt are what you see in top quality race cars.

The wonderful 11-page illustrated instructions from the Cones explain everthing in perfectionist detail. To simplify greatly:

1) remove seats carefully so tracks don't scratch/gouge anything.

2) remove rear bulkhead panels behind seat

3) Locate pre-tapped holes (all 5 anchors are pre-tapped!)

4) measure carefully the slots needed to be cut from rear panel

5) Install anchors, OEM belt bushings: snap-in the TeamTechs.

6) re-install panels and seats.

The scariest sounding part is cutting the slots in the back panel.

I have Simpson in my car and I am completely satisfied with them. I did the installation myself and it went well. I have now driven a car with the Team-Tech harness and I am very impressed with the quality and fit I would agree with others here that they are a very good product.

Also, Autoform sells replacement panels pre-cut for 5 pts. I would check into it is you want to be able to keep the car 100% clean.

I will second JonB's recommendation of Team Tech's. They are simply the best harnesses out there. In particular the sternum strap that they include makes the harnesses much better able to prevent more serious chest injury in a significant impact. Unforunately I have seen several instances where Team Tech harnesses protected Viper Days participants in off track incidents.

Curt from Team Tech spoke at the Viper Days finals last year. Believe me from this that they have put an incredible amount of engineering into their harness systems.

I would also suggest that for anyone serious about participating in track events with the stock seat to use 6 points instead of 5 points. They are a little more difficult to use but prevent submarining much better....

Feel free to contact me for more details on the Team Techs. Janni and I wrote a set of install instructions that have been used by a number of different Viper owners. They are available to anyone upon reqeust...

As one who has seen airbags go off in front of me while wearing TeamTech; and one who is married to anotherone who had the airbags go off in front of her while wearing her TeamTech's; let me assure everyone that before Watkins Glenn she will have TeamTechs installed on her new ride.
'Nough said. We totally agree with Henry and Janni.

Just installed Team-Tech. About 90 min per side on an RT10, being very careful. The factory belts can be used for day-to-day driving without any problem. You don't want 5-points that don't allow use of the factory belts, unless of course the cars only use is on the track.
