Regrets? I have a few, but too few to mention.
my ONLY regret is the lightweight flywheel, low speed bucking, parking lot speeds are a pain and the fact that you HAVE to speed shift or your rpm's will plummit between shifts, yeah not too happy with it as far as streetability but as a performance mod, it works. STILL REGRET IT THO
Does anyone else see this as a huge problem? I was actually wondering about this exact thing since I plan on purchasing a lightweight flywheel this summer..
The only two I know of that seem worth buying are Fidanza(Aluminum - 18lbs) and Chromoly(Steel - 22lbs).
After I put my Fidanza in it took about 1/2 a second to get used to it.
It's apparently not for schoolgirls
Dave,
Just wondering....Did you also do a new clutch and hydraulic slave cylinder at the same time you installed the Flywheel?
Yes. I will almost always replace those items when the tranny is out. $500 is too cheap not to. My DIY with pics of that project is at VA.

What clutch did you use?
I did change also my clutch and flywheel with the SPEC Super Twin Clutch + aluminum flywheel. It is really amazing. Instant response , especially at high rpms.
You will get used to it.
Not regret that.

Is the rotating assembly balance ever an issue when replacing the flywheel and clutch? I never thought of it before, but during a rebuild I learned about the machine shops balancing the cranks with the rods and pistons. Not sure if the flywheel, clutch and harmonic balancer come into play.
Balancing everything together is always best. I have no idea if that is ever done with a Viper engine. The flywheel is of course balanced stand alone. My dune buggy engines - VW flat 4 air cooled - were always done with the accessories on the crank. Way different animal though. That whole mess would almost fit in your lunch box.
Yes but in the automotive business you have to design the vehicle so that EVERY single one thats rolls off the assembly line is able to go for xxxxxx amount of miles without a hickup. So the performance is limited by the least well manufactured parts beeing used on the assembly line.
If everything is checked out and replaced for good/better parts the vehicles are able to do miracles.
Any one regret or wish they would of bought a different brand
1. Head and cam NO thats perfect
2. Headers belangers are perfect for me
3. Nitrous. supercharger, or turbo, I had nitrous on it, have a SC now and wish i had TT
4. Brakes over rated
or anything else.
me too, sounds sooooo much better, best $130 mod (price includes x-pipe install p&l)
I'd like to see posers put stickers on certain parts...
"The ghetto made me put these wheels on my car but I'll be getting big brakes to match in a few years."
My future wing could use a sticker like that.
i have roe racing hi flo cats and the corsa cat back pipes it sounds great at idle but when i get on itit is way tooo loud and does not sound good at all im very unhappy anyhelp on what i can do because i regret it . the power upgrade is great but thats it . HELP
For funnies once, I personally drove the Davis Dam test. That in NV desert. A test is miles loooooong up hill in August at peak heat in day. 120F in the shade. You'd be surprised how much a calibrator learns during that test. Next stop is Bemidji MN (north of Ontario) in January for an equally grueling deep freeze performance test not just the powertrain but brakes too. You'd also be surprised what fails in both.
