Hey guys,
I remember I used to work a few years back as a detailer and cars would come in with plenty of damage and the dealership would get some place to repair it and no one would be told about the damage. (Honda dealership). Now what I wanted to know is are there any special things I should be looking for on a new car to make sure it hasn't been damaged before? Also what things should I be getting with it other then the keys and insstruction manual ;) ? Looking to purchase very shortly. ...Thanks in advance for your guy's help!

It’s kind of obvious but try and find a car that hasn’t been sitting at the dealership for a long time. If the dealer won’t tell you how long he’s had the car the tag on the inside of the door will at least tell you the month the car was built. I’ve seen lots of showroom Vipers covered with fingerprints and heal marks all over the sill plates. To me, that’s no better than a used car. I was lucky and found a car that the dealer had for only about a week and even during the week he had it, it was in the showroom with the top up, doors locked, and signs that read “don’t touch”.

You're mistaken. Those are lip-prints all over Chuck's cars not fingerprints.

Go to a dealer that loves vipers just as much as we do.

When I bought mine it was roped off never touched by anyone other than me.

I was not able to take immediate delivery so they put it up on a lift 16 feet

in the air until the weather cleared. Oh, I almost forgot. Get yourself a

coarse pomice stone or 300 grit sand paper and rub the underside of your right

foot until the sensetivity of that area has increased to match that of your

eyeball or nether-region... this will come in handy later.

Look along the sides under good light and make sure there aren't any dents in the sheet metal indicating possible structural damage. Then look underneath at the undercarriage and make sure there aren't any water spots indicating it has been driven in the rain. If neither exist you should be ok.

Seriously,if an 03, also check that the recalls have been done; I believe 3, maybe 4 if I remember right.

If your asking this question I suggest you take a friend who really knows cars. Better yet who works at a Body shop or has done some body work himself. Big investment don't screw it up. JMO
