Guys who race and change brake pads between race days and street driving, what tool do you use to remove brake pad pin without knocking with the hammer on the caliper paint? Last time I was changing brake pads I used a Philips screwdriver, and can't say I am happy with it as I was tending to slip and knock up with either screwdriver or small hammer on the paint surface of the caliper.

I use a small drift punch and a small plastic headed hammer...no damage with many pad changes on many Vipers.

Try a C Clamp ..... put a rubber pad on the fixed side, then remove the knobby on the adjustable side, clamp it on and screw away
