A 2001 Yellow/Black GTS with 4k miles.

I can get it for 58K.

I told myself not to buy until after Iraq and the market settles but...

Thanks. ;)

One of the most important things about buying a used Viper is knowing it's history, every detail. If it is a one owner (and the owner is selling it, not a dealer) without any problems and it's the color scheme you want.

Then go buy it right now.

That's a pretty good deal. Who gives a rats [******] about one owner? I don't care who owned a car before me as long as it's in good shape. It is helpful to know the history on the car though. My 2 cents

The markets won't stabilise until well after the war ends, if we have one. Don't expect a recovery this year.

BigCarrot,

It is very difficult to know/learn the history of a car that has been owned by multiple persons. If your buying off the original owner, you can drill him with questions that he must answer, and can't say, 'Not to the best of my knowledge" or "Not since I owned the car", etc... Of course, your gut should tell you whether the person is being honest. Also, 'most' private sellers don't want you coming back after the sale, due to them lying about an accident, paint, etc... Some people even create contracts that stipulate certain factors, to protect this huge investment. These things would be very difficult to accomplish with a 3rd or 4th owner, or purchasing from a dealer. They always have an out, and can blame things on a previous owners. Not saying I wouldn't buy off a dealer or 3rd - 4th owner, but 'best case scenario' would be a one owner car. Personally, I would pay a premium for a one-owner car.

Toby,

Keep in mind, your spending a LOT of money. Get exactly what you want, and you'll be happier in the long run.... Given, price is important, but that shouldn't be the most important factor. Don't compromise, especially when purchasing something that cost soooooo much....
