I've never seen one on a 96'.

BINGO! Except, ONE 98 RT/10 did come out of the factory with a "smoothie". Was documented and was for sale in the classifieds.

Do vipers really have a hood scoop? Or is it an Air Duct?
Doesn't websters dictionary define a hood scoop as something sticking up out of the hood - scooping air? Or is it directing air?

Hi Frank...it's not a scoop..it's a NACA Duct. A scoop would create drag...a NACA duct is an inlet expressly designed to creat no drag.
