You can do a search, for the full story, but a regular meter is just a voltage
display from the output of your front O2 sensors - I think the readout meter
is around $75 and you just splice into the PCM wire from a front O2 sensor.
The wideband has to have its on O2 sensor installed because it displays realtime A/F.

The O2 sensor for a wideband will run around $125, and the meter prices can
vary - but the low end is around $150 for a kit and a little over $200 for
a built unit - these are my recollections and I could be off on the meter prices, but I think I'm close.

Look at the GReddy gauge. It uses a heated o2 and reads from 8 to 16. Also has peak memory and warning indicators. They come in white or black. Go to subarustore.com and they sell them for $269. Otherwise if you want a wide band plan on spending $1200 plus.

It is true that widebands were once in the $1000 plus range, but all you
have to do is search the internet to find w/b meters in the $300 range.
I have a TechEdge 1.5 - from Australia, it was their high end display,
it has RPM and 2 or 3 other inputs that it can record - it can be hooked up
to a palm pilot for downloads.

You can pick up a display for A/F reading off your O2 sensors at JEGS or
Summit for under $75 - why pay more?

WOW! Gerald, you have quite a 'command and control' center there.
Something out of a 007 scene.

Sure, it will give you an indication of
what your O2 sensor is sending the PCM.

Those are the Sparco buttons I was telling you about, the left one is the line lock...right one doesn't have anything on it, yet...I am thinking about flipping them around and 180, where you couldn't really see them...They do look a bit Bond, James Bond...Or I am thinking of tossing LED's in the little holes above the buttons, at least on the left, which would tell me when the line lock is engaged...Not like I don't know when it's on, but would add to my James Bondness...

Disclaimer: No relays were injured or involved in the installation of the MOMO steering wheel, the Sparco buttons, gages, or the line lock! :D (Inside joke)

OK, can someone explain to me. Does the VEC1 give you ability to change A/F ratio? Does anything let you alter this? Seems that in my mind air intake is a constant based on set parameters (smooth tubes, intake size, etc) and fuel can be altered based on computer inputs. Am I right or am I a confused puppy?
