What's with the Hot Wheels GTS-R Hood?

I know you guys know your stuff, so...

Can somebody shed some light on this hood?
Did they finish their mold too early before the car design or something. I personally think it would look cool to have these two cars (with the right hood) sitting side-by-side... but I'm not feeling this "2012 Hot Wheels GTS-R"
Seems very generic and is missing the styker logo.

Sadly, the drawings on their website look better than the actual cars. There are 3 of them.

I hope the 1:18 versions will be more accurate and better looking.

Correct. The Hot Wheels GTS-R casting was a First Edition release back in 2001. Hot Wheels has just been releasing repaints since that time.
