Do you remove the hood? I'm going to be installing headers & roller rockers soon.
So do most leave the hood on or take it off?

I think most guys remove the hood for more access and less chance of damaging the hood itself.

I would remove the hood if it were my project.

For those two items, I would not remove the hood. If you have the space and people to help it's not that hard if you do decide to remove it.

It is your option, I would bet that most do not remove the hood to install headers and rockers.

I tend to work helperless, anybody ever rig up something like those hard top hoists the Jeep guys use to help lift the hood off?

This. I'm generally without help and would only remove the hood if I had to, but can see why people do. Headers and rockers are easy with the hood in place.

After the fifth time of smacking the back of your head on the corner of the wheel opening, you'll be looking for the gf to help you take it off. lol

I did both with the hood on. Not that big of an issue for the two projects you mention. I did it over a few days and Coronas. I liked the fact of being able to slightly close the hood when I was not working on it. Also, if you have limited space in your garage, storing the hood safely could be a task. If you have the space...no problem.

If you have the extra hand to help remove and a safe place to store it take it off. If not, just be consious of the hood and or wear a HELMET (Smile).
