I have a 1993 R/T 10 and I bought a set of the 5 spoke (with small ribbed areas between spokes). Maybe 1996 wheels?
They have similar finish than the 93 wheels (grey).
I would like to get them polished and crome plated.
Are there any recommended places near Philly/Harrisburg/NJ area? If not,who can do a nice job with reasonable price?

Thanks in advance, Lauri

1996 and up wheel design for sure...There are rumors about detrimental effects of having these wheels chromed...I would simply get them refinished in high polish and then clearcoated for easy maintenance...IMHO

Try Wheel Collision Center in Bath, Pa. Right next to Allentown, just past the airport a few miles.

They do very good work. I had some O.Z.'s fixed there for a friend and you would never know they were messed up before.

Now to take 1 of my O.Z.'s there.

Thanks Jerome, just what I needed and even close to Lancaster.
I know cromeplating will be a bad idea for springs and suspension components, but is that same with the wheels too?

How about the "polished/cromed" 1996 wheels, are they just polished and clearcoated?
I quess clear coat would be fine. I mentioned crome for being easy to clean.I just dont want to use Mothers polish on the wheels every day (had a Harley with polished aluminum wheels, was a major pain in the b...)
I'll try the Hemmings too!

High polished and clearcoated can be maintained just like the finish on your car...after a few coats of Zaino Z2, all you will need is a California Duster dedicated to wheel dusting, and Z6...only having to Z2 again once a month or so...super easy to maintain.

Yes, Wheel Collision does a great job......I think the last ones we did were around $ 175 per rim to have done. That was having the edges repaired and chromed.

Update: Wheel Collision warned me that they would not be able to guarantee the polishing results and therefore I decided not to leave them there. They told that they do not know what is under the factory (greyish) paint, could be bubbles etc. They mentioned that no one in East Coast can crome these wheels. I find it difficult to believe.
Price was also about $300 per rim.... My rims are NEW!!! Not a dent or a scratch on them.
So... Any other suggestions?

did the 1996 - 1998 wheels ever come with a grey finish new? I've seen polished, white, yellow, and gold.... not flat grey...

I have no idea from what year they are from, looks like 96. They have ink markings "98" inside the rim, but I doubt they are 98 rims.
I have seen some pictures from some blue/white striped 96 Vipers with either crome or these grey wheels.

You can view my wheels here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1874267387&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:US:6

"John at California Chrome Wheel Co. His work is second to none and about 150 a wheel" 661-294-0170"

I talked to John and he sounded like a guy who knows his stuff. He has cromed many Viper wheels and was confident that he can do good quality croming on my wheels. I did sent my wheels to him yesterday, he has about 7-8 day turnover time.
I can hardly wait to get them back.
He has a website too: http://www.calchrome.com/

Thanks Scott @ Elite Motorsports!

Merry Christmas!
