I just want to feel bad about paying $1800 per year full coverage on 02GTS in NY.
BTW I'm 36/married/no tickets/no claims and using GEICO.

What are you paying?

I'm 44 and have a 96 GTS that runs me $622 a year for full coverage with a $100 deductable, State Farm.

There are too many variables to consider when comparing these insurance quotes, namely:
Age
driving record
whether car is the primary vehicle or pleasure vehicle
annual mileage limitation?
amount of deductable
amount of liability coverage (can vary from the minimum to ??)
teenage driver in the home
etc., etc.
It would be nice if we could create a file with all of this information for the various companies. It would be very helpful when shopping for coverage.

its all where you live, when I lived in bostonm my ferrari was 3500 per year, its 500 in atlanta! The viper runs me around 900 with 1000 deduct on collision, 100 on comp with max liability & meds , which adds around 300 per year. One of my friends had an 89 911 carrera , his insurance was 700 in atlanta , he moved to miami & it went to over 3k for the same coverage.

Eldiablo Viper.... Don't feel so bad paying the $1800.00.
I am also paying close to $1800.00 per year on a 98 GTS.
I am 41 and single..(well living in sin the last 15 years) and haven't had a ticket or accident since 1989.
100/300/100k and $500.00 deductible and 7,500 limited miles with State Farm and that is also with the multivehicle discount since I have 2 other cars insured with them. What a discount!!
Good old New Jersey rates....I think we take the honors for the highest or 2nd highest rates in the nation.
I have to check with my fellow jersey viper owner Tim 721 who says he is paying $1050 per year.....is that for the whole year or do you drop it during the winter? If it is, I think I may be switching insurance co.

I pay $1,100 per year with zero deductible, $500,000 limits, $80,000 agreed upon value, unlimited miles (as long as they are not used to drive to work or errands...pleasure, show, club event, etc miles..are OK) with Grundy. I'm 33, married, and no tickets or accidents. And yes it's worth more destroyed than in one piece.

I think it may have to do with living in FL. We need the other FL guys to chime in.

My freind who is a woman is 46 years old NO accidents uses it only for pleasure driving stating 6000 miles a year has 2 other cars with the same insurance company and is paying over $1200 per year.

Ok so Other FL people how about it?

I just checked and hers comes out like this:

2000 DODGE VIPER RT10

BODILY INJURY LIABILITY $100,000/$300,000 N/A $129.60

PROPERTY DAMAGE LIABILITY $100,000 N/A $67.40

COMPREHENSIVE N/A $500 DED. $73.00

COLLISION N/A $500 DED. $217.10

PERSONAL INJURY PROTECTION-INSURED BASIC $500 DED. $53.80

RENTAL REIMBURSEMENT $600 N/A $7.30
EMERGENCY ROAD SERVICE N/A NON-DEDUCTIBLE $6.20

UNINSURED MOTORIST - NONSTACKED $50,000/$100,000 N/A $48.30

Premium Total: 602.70 for 6 months

She tried changing the Collision to $1000 deductable and it only saved $80 a year.

Donzi, I have the same coverage as Firecat with multy car discounts. I did have to call State Farm back to verify that the $311.84 they quotes was full coverage for 6 mos. I just moved from Michigan to OH and our ins dropped almost enough on a 01 T&C van and an 99 F150 to pay for the GTS ins.

It all depends where you live. I pay over $1560 a year with state farm. I have been with them for 13 years, most of those with multiple cars insured.

They also charge $50 a month x 12, for a motorcycle and you can only use it 6 months out of the year?? They wanted to charge $65 a month x 12, just for a dirt bike (not street legal or driven on the street at all, I declined that one.

Up here in Alaska, when they(the state) made auto insurance mandatory (sponsored of course by the insurance companies.) it went up dramatically and goes up every year. Insurance was a lot cheaper when it wasn't forced on you, I wonder why?

You get the shaft in alaska no matter who the insurer is.

From 2002 to 2003 the rates went up 20%.

Adam:

I'm with Geico and about $1,700 for the highest coverage. They seem to be the best for Vipers in the NY area.

Just to see, I checked Tim's AMICA
