Who\'s Chemically Cooling their Paxton blower

Just wanted to know who is running the roe racing or snow performance ****/water injection and what kind of gains (hp or temp charge) can be expected. Also who uses a vec 2 with one of these bad boys.

thanks in advance

Mine had a wetter in it. ;)

Hold on BC, your diaper is off-topic for the moment.

Dmitry, no water **** here, but I am using VEC2 to manage larger injectors with a supercharger. What are you using the VEC2 for? Are you using a Split Sec. FMU?

The VEC2 requires some tuning, but has good potential.

Thomas

I am using the splitsec to just turn on and off the pumps. B/C I have a cust exhaust and no cats I needed extra fuel it was a lean so I use the vec 2 for timimng and injector pulse. I also modded my vec2 to to be used for a ****/water injection trigger and shift light at the same time.

Not sure if you have looked on SRT10forum.com but a guy over there is claiming to have solved the heat soak issue. He did 3 dyno runs back to back to back, the third one matching performance numbers of the first on a non tuned Ram SRT.

Of course he's not giving away his secret and I could not verify his claim but if true shows some promise.

Yes, after exhaust modifications I also went to the VEC2 to avoid lean conditions. At the same time we installed 43 lb. injectors, along with an MSD voltage booster for the stock fuel pump. I won't be seeing lean conditions anytime soon. I am interested in intergrating the Wideband Commander with the VEC2.I just need to find a place for the gauges, and may end up with windshield mount like you have. My splitsec also runs the accessory fuel pumps.

Regarding the water/methanol ViperD, are you doing this purely as a power mod, or are you seeing excessive engine temps that concern you?

I also own a cobra svt that is getting a tt installed so i read alot of mustang mags in one mag they gained like 80rwhp with the ****/water injection. I want to run a little more boost like 10-11lbs and think i can get away with it. B/c of a really good tune and i have a really good wideband with wireless data loggong.

One guy here locally is running water / **** injection. I will probably go there shortly. His is triggered by vacuum.

If you have or come up with a good water injection set-up, please let me know where I can get one.

Just installed the Autoform vented "comp coupe" style hood. Dropped about 15 - 20 degrees on the temp gage. This was on a 90 degree day, cruising at 80 - 85 mph in sixth. Good mod that should help the car live at the track.

It is amazing how much heat poors out of these big center vents while sitting at a stop light in the summer.

That guy is from the SRT Forum is Gary from X-Metal Engineering. The same guy from which I got my Accusump.

He actually is doing a full build up for me right now with a polished crank, h-rods, forged pistons, polish and port etc...

I've seen the dyno numbers and yes, they are the real deal. If fact I spent the weekend at the Mopar Nats with Gary and the National Sales Mgr for Paxton. Paxton is REALLY impressed with what they've done. He's put a lot of R&D into solving any shortfalls with the kit and has come up with an incredible solution.

Re: Who\'s Chemically Cooling their Paxton blower

I used to run a water methanol setup on my SC 350Z. I ran a http://www.coolingmist.com/ single stage setup with a pressure switch triggering the injectors at 4psi.

It allowed me to run a higher psi along with an extra measure of safety. I used washer fluid (which just happens to be 10% methanol) and gives the extra benefit of having a low washer fluid warning light.

The main reason I used it was for extra cooling. It made a huge difference, especially in the summer.

I installed the injectors about 2 inches in front of the throttle body.

Hey ViperD,

The hood I bought is at the paint shop, but FYI, its the Autoform hood with the center vents punched out pictured here a week or two ago.

DocAdam,

Thanks for the link. Just talked to David at coolingmist and ordered his setup. Sounds like a knowledgeable young man who is also a car guy.

It should be in later this week. I'll install it and let you know. Track event this weekend in 95 + heat. Wish I'd had it installed now.

Re: Who\'s Chemically Cooling their Paxton blower

Dan,

Sounds great, the main reason I went with coolingmist rather than Snow was the customer support. The system can be designed to fit just about any application and they will custom design a system for no extra charge. They were great to deal with.

For my application, there were times when I would actually get below ambient temps, you just can't do that with an intercooler alone. I also know a guy with a MR2 custom turbo setup that uses cooling mist and has run consistent 1/4 mile times on 100 degree days, back to back.

Best of luck and I look forward to hearing how it turns out.

Viper D, here is the picture of the new hood. We should have pictures of another color soon.

MAN THAT LOOKS NICE>..... A little reworking of the splitter is in order, IMO..

I've found splitters made my GenII run about 30-40 degrees hotter once it got to operating temperature. I couldn't figure out why I was almost overheating. I ripped my AF splitter off and it stays UNDER 190 Degrees, even though my car is supercharged.. ;)
