You might recall that I complained that a Z06 would not have a go a couple of weeks ago:

Well I'm driving home after leaving work early on Monday Night due to some gastro-intestinal issues and just when I am slowing down to make a left turn at the same corner I cam across and Z06 a dark blue 996 Turbo rolls up next to me. I'm thinking I don't care if I shyte myself, it's been over three months I have had the car with no races, and 996 Turbo is my dream car, so I turn off my blinker and roll up to the stop light lined up against the P-Car. No revving. No looking. But when the light goes green I make my best Viper launch ever. Little bit of wheelspin but the right foot traction control is doing a great job. Once the car get stable I hammer it and make a hard shift to second. Then I look. What do I see? I see a dark blue 996 Turbo putzing away from the light like a grandma in her Buick Skylark. Disgusting. I mean why did the guy by a Turbo, my dream car, if he won't even have a go? If all he wants to do is **** in a widebody Porsche, he could have saved $30k+ by getting a C4S. WHY WON'T ANYONE RACE ME? Really disappointing. I've spent ever since either on the toilet or in the fetal position in bed, and let me tell you, that time would have been much more enjoyable if I could have been dreaming about how a 996TT was my first kill.

You should have at least revved the engine. I've never instigated a race, but people always try to start them with me for some reason. Haven't lost yet, but haven't gone up against anything tougher than a Z06, either.

Well, let's put his rational into perspective:

A.) This person obviously likes sports cars nobody spends 130K on a 2-seater to putt around town.

B.) If he did spend 130K, Odds are he is probably smart enough to know when he's outgunned. I don't care how many times you race your car, if a tubbed out pro street 69' Camero SS lines up next to you with it's holley blower sticking through the hood, you wouldn't race him.

C.) Since he's smart enough to know he's outmatched, he's also smart enough to know that he'll feel like **** over the 130K he just spent after he get's his a$$ handed to him.

D.) Or all the above could be irrelevant in the event that he could have been getting a hummer (not in the H2 sense). In which case I wouldn't have raced you either.

He may be driving a 966 but that does not mean he is a mind reader. You should of at least had some sort of verbal or sign communication, after all you were not at the strip, you need to at least eye the dude.

You never know what the other guy has, there's a local 996 TT putting out 600hp, not to mention his AWD would eat most of us to the 60ft mark. Even stock a Porsche TT will give a stock Viper a run for it's money.

Why would he feel like crap? Would a Ferrari owner feel like crap if he lost to a modded Mustang and want to sell his car? I wouldn't, he's the one driving a Ferrari.

Of course he would feel like crap, I don't like to lose to anything.

I know my Viper isn't the fastest car on the road, but I would still feel like sh-t losing to a Vette, Stang, or even a Porsche - even if I would still rather have the Viper.

Of course at that point I would congratulate the person, but also tell the driver this is JUST my daily driver and would he like to race my OTHER car.

As far as I'm concerned street racers rank lower than pedophiles.Sure give someone or kids a careful Viper Buzz when they are showing extreme intrest etc.Real racing takes place on tracks.Drag,oval,road.Idiots,Morons,creeps,juveniles,criminals,guys with small dickx and smaller brains "race" on the street.A fast controlled drive?No problem.When I was a teen.(I'm now 54).I witnesed a street race between a chev and ford.I was next door at a friends house.Turned around to see what the noise was.Two ***** criminals came flying up the street.One car came across the lawns.Next door little boy on a tricycle in his driveway got turned into a smear of garbage in front of his parents on the porch.I cannot forget.It will stay with me forever.The sentence for street "racers" should be a bullet through the brain.Real drivers,men and women race on tracks.Its time for the VCA to ban all street racing posts once and for all. An important difference between ********** and street racing is that one is intentionally harmful to the victim while the other is accidental. Another important difference is that ********** guarantees a victim everytime it takes place. Street racing claims a victim in only a fraction of 1% of incidents.

I am a fan of neither, though I have engaged in mild street racing, on uncrowded expressways, where no one was put in danger. However, to say street racers are lower in character than pedophiles based on those activities is sheer lunacy.

Obviously that experience has SEVERELY affected him and I can see his HARSH criticism towards street racing.

As far as his other comments on it being worse than child molestation - I think we all know he is just very angry and VENTING, but REALLY does not believe what he is saying.

If you read his last comment there was an attempt at humor about a very serious situtation, so I think he is coming around.

As far as street racing, if you are going to do it, be very selective as to when and where you do it.

When I have RARELY given in to temptation, it has always been on a wide road with no cross streets and I always back off as soon as I take the lead (which usually doesn't take very long) or by 80mph TOPS.

When I was 23 I was street racing on a non-familiar street and lost control due to an unexpected curve, I ended up being cut out of the car with the Jaws of Life, Medi-vac'd to the hospital, on life support for 4 days, in the hospital for 10 days, etc....

Know where you are doing it. I've got the physical scars to prove why.
