I talked to a someone that works with this stuff extensively, he tried to clear it to get a glossy look, but was not satisfied with the results. It's got a texture to it, so the paint would have to be very thin to get into grain of the material. To get it right would probably be just as much work as working with the real thing like you did.

Plus the 'real' thing costs 1/5th of the fake. I imaging you would still have to put multiple coats of clear epoxy over it. I may get a small piece and do my laptop to see *** durable it is.

Josh over at Roe Racing has the pieces as well. For now I'm experimenting on my own. Need some winter projects.
