I have read older threads on winterizing and I was wondering what most people in the great white north do? I am due for a LOF, and will stabilize the fuel, etc....but I plan on getting new rubber in the spring so that's moot. Does anyone unload the suspension, or is that overkill?

Here's what I do before Jan 1, we usually have some good days in Dec-

Sta-bil in fuel tank
oil change
wash/clay bar/polish car, clean and treat leather interior, clean motor
Use my weather stripping treatment
Over-inflate tires, carpet pieces under tires
moth balls and bounce dryer sheets in engne/tail pipes and interior
battery tender connected
cover it
reduce insurance

As for insurance, have you looked into collector's insurance? In NJ there is no such thing as 6-month, or seasonal insurance, but I did find collector's insurance that was about $75 more, for 12 months coverage, than 6 months on my current policy. I am restricted to 5K miles/year.

Yup! What L said! Full cleaning, and fire/theft insurance.

I put mine around 45psi.

In regards to changing the oil, if I change it now since the car isn't being driven and then I put in on the road may 1, am I supposed to change it again? Ive heard to change it before winter and to change it after because vipers have aluminum pans that attract moisture or something.

I think Ted up in Canada showed us the winter tires he puts on his car, to drive across that frozen lake I suppose.

Yes, Herb also had pics of a mule Viper with snow treads on it. Was the Viper he drove to last years IL Christmas party.

Changing other fluids if needed a week or 2 before, but oil should be RIGHT before it's stored.

Drive it...just a little slower
Get a battery tender, very ceep and your car will start when you want it to.
