Hello all,

Update -- The cruise date is tenatively scheduled for July 18 to Wollersheim Winery. The same day as the Vintage Races at Road America. Would you consider cruising to Road America and doing the lunch time track tour followed by lunch and the vintage races? Road American is offering a package where you can put your car on the track for $75.00 during lunch. This is cruise option 2. Any interest? If option 2 interest all, we'll have to purchase tickets very soon off the www.roadamerica.com. What will it be folks?

Or Cruise option 1 as follows:

I'm organizing a cruise for Sunday, July 18 from Madison through the back roads of Wi to the Wollersheim winery and onto a restaurant in/near the Dells for lunch. Hoping to get 5 to 10 cars in order to keep the cruise manageable and fun. After lunch you can continue on, stay in the Dells, go to ** Chunk casino, or head back home.

I'm working out the exact routes and the restaurant for lunch. This is a show up and go event. We will have a radar equipped lead car (look out) with cruisers to follow. This way those who want to open up can with less chance of meeting the local officials. I've extended the invite to the local X50 Twin Turbo, AWD Porsche owner who has recently acquired his car and may want to participate.

I will be mailing a formal invite with restaurant and routes to those who let me know they are interested.

Ivory,
Please be aware of the rules of Road America while on the course. The largest problem is that you can not pass another car even on straightaways. Also you need to be aware that this is a major problem because they let any idiot that is willing to pay the fee on the track. There are some nice cars but also trucks and mini-vans that you are not allowed to pass. I went there last year with the Fox Valley Sports Car Club. It was very disappointing for the above reasons. We were told that we could pass on the straightaways but I got yelled at on every lap by the guy at the starting line. We we supposed to have the track to ourselves for 30 minutes but it seemed more like 10 minutes. Then the trucks, mini vans and other Sunday drivers showed up. Bottom line is it sucked.
If you are still interested you should call them and see if you can get a better price. I think we paid $20 or $25 to drive on the track. That price may have been because we had 170 cars and over 100 went on the track.
