Actually, our vipers are more exotic than one may think...Chrysler aquired Lamborghini in mid-1987, calling it Automobili Lamborghini SpA...At the time, a Lambo project, code-named P-140, was to utilise a V10 in order to increase the performance potential. Just after the project made it to the prototype stage, it was halted in favour of supplying critical attention to the refinement of the new Diablo. Chrysler owned Automobili Lamborghini SpA until January 21st, 1994...

To make a long story short...guess where the cast aluminum design for our V10 came from? Lamborghini Marine.

Hopefully others will chime in and elaborate...interesting topic...
