Well I bought the car and made a successful trip unscathed...dry roads and sunshine all the way..1500 miles..nary a drop of rain. I am charmed( snake?)
Thanks to the Viper Nation..all the bros here...for advice and offers of aid...espec to USAFViper, DA1cop,Venomaholic, GTS Bruce, PlumCrazy, ViperJoe, and Darryl F.
Made the trip without incident and the car ran perfectly...just cruising in a high powered GT.
Got off late and had to take a more southerly route .. stopping in Oklahoma City on the way to NY. Didn't have time to stop ....and trying to hustle to make the weather window...only stop was to see the Will Rogers Museum for a couple of hours.
Car is more usable and comfortable than I could have imagined...seats fit me well ...adjustable pedals... and I espec liked the pump-up lumbar support.
Thanks again to all and I'm really stoked over this car...will post pics again if there is an interest.

Tony P ( red GTS...I'm thinking maybe silver stripes?)

Oh...a bonus..I got about 23mpg...not bad
75mph and under I got 23.0 and 22.5 and 23.2 mpg
when pushing harder 80 to 85mph I got 20.6mpg

I calibrated the odo and the speedo on the mileage markers and found they are very accurate.

Hey, I thought in Wichita you're not 'sposed to use the words 'wife' and swapping' in the same sentence :bonker:

My first 3400 mile cross-country RT/10 trip was in December '97; Northern California to Oklahoma/Texas and back. Encountered snow on some of the passes near El Paso, which is all sorts of fun in a Viper. Have since done the trip three times.
