Anyone have pictures of an X-pipe welded into the back of a Borla system? I am going to have this done on a Borla system I just bought but not sure what X pipe to go with

or

not stainless but I feel like it's a better design
or

or anyone have any other suggestions? I bought a Borla with a magnaflow muffler welded into the back so I am definitely going with an X or an H pipe

Well the Borla I bought has a magnaflow muffler welded in so that has to go and I heard good things about an x-pipe reducing drone yet keeping the Borla sound

Man if you can see your exhaust then you're not driving a Viper, more like a Ram.... :drive:

Why does the magnaflow have to go? How's it sound now? Do you have the complete system in with the headers and all?

I dont think an X-pipe reduces drone. It may reduce the sound volume a bit if you get one that is tight in the X that restricts the flow. Prob not good for performance though. The 8.0 liter loves the full flow of two 3" pipes.
I had a B&B headers with B&B catback(including X-pipe) and tried the system with three diff components in place of the cats including; straight pipe, ceramic hi-flow cat, straight-thru preforated tube muffler. Every combo produced an anoying drone around 1500 rpms. Removing the cats when you have headers and 3" back = Hello Drone.
I'd like to hear a setup with headers, straight-thru preforated tube muffler in place of cats, and corsa. I think that would be the best rear exit combo for sound/performance/drone.

I think before selling the corsa you should experement with it paired with your new headers.

Keep us posted on what you end up with.

I will definitely try the Corsa before selling it and try the Borla as well and see which exhaust setup I like better. I have zero drone right now with the Corsa and no cats but stock headers.

i installed an x-pipe (on an rt/10 though) b/c i heard of how bad the drone is w/o a rear muffler (drone drives me batty in short order).

from everyone who posted in the threads i read, my drone rpm range is much narrower than those w/o an x-pipe, and for me, easily controllable with gear choice. I would do it (add x-pipe) again.

I have a Magnaflow 3" X-pipe on my Hennessey exhaust which actually incorporated the back half of my Borla system I already had on my car. Definitely took away the drone and improved the sound. Your exhaust tips will be spread apart and still fit through the back bumper with about a third of an inch clearance on each side with the 4.5" tips I have. Highly recommend.

I have a Borla and installed the Magnaflow 3" Tru-X X-pipe to help reduce drone. Don't expect a magnificent reduction, but it did help some. It seemed to evenly quiet down the entire sound frequency range.
