So....................using the old rule of thumb on a 2 mile road course ( Laguna Seca is just a bit over that , by the way ) , that every second is 10 car lengths, the ACR is only about 26 car lengths faster per lap than the Chebby!!! Say what???

1 lap and 26 back , 2 laps 52 lengths back, 10 laps 260 car lengths in arrears ---can you say , " Sorry GM , not in the same league!"

What's sweet is that this was a Motor Trend car test and they picked the Viper ACR as the winner. 3 seconds per lap. Incredible.

You're right Viper Jeff. I almost stopped watching because of all the whining about noise, heat, lack of creature comforts....when did car guys get so soft?

Their message pretty much boiled down to the Z06 is the perfect car.... unless you want handling and speed.

It is obvious that they are both a bit prissy. But they were, and are, so boxed in by what the test driver said that they had no choice. Randy is absolutely in love with the car. And what he says counts a thousand times more than what two twerps have to say. The one negative thing that was obvious by watching the side by side was that the Vette lost power as the video went on. Its speed started to drop. No surprise. Its small supercharger rotates at up to 20,000 RPM and its intercooler system is not adequate to handle the rapidly generated heat from such hi RPMs. The car has been overrated from the getgo as a raod racer. Its also a design abortion. The front and back conflict although the Z06 variant does look much better than the regular Vette. Lastly, the competition raod racing Vettes have little in common with the Z06. Their reference to it was totally bogus.

I thought the Viper sounded way better (engine note). Those two twerps were obviously luxury car drivers. Randy was the only one worth listening to.
